The drop will be coming in time, preferably after winter. Im going with a GR2 struts and tein street lowering springs with camber adjustable tophats.

Heres a quick list off the top of my head as to what i have installed so far, as well as things set aside awaiting install (Need more time for install or some more parts are needed before installing)
Suspension mods include: -Cusco Front strut bar -Whiteline rear strut bar -Whiteline rear subframe locking bolts -Cusco rear subframe brace (to be installed) -Whiteline rear street swaybar links (Installed!) -Whiteline 24mm Rear swaybar. -Kartboy front solid swaybar links. I appreciate the kind words. Ive always had a love towards the SF5 forester chassis, esp the JDM version. Its a tough car to get parts for, being that ive only found one dealer who deals parts for it (boxer4racing) , though some are the same as the GC8 impreza (sway bar links, brakes), the other suspension parts have been tough to locate. But as time goes on andi get time to install these parts, ill do them. Things like sway-bar links and chassis braces im holding off on until i can get aftermarket (bigger) sway bars and subframe/control arm bushings installed first, rather than rip it all apart again to put them in. Like i said, its tough because some parts are compatible, and some are not, so i take it one step at a time, patiently, while i find out what will work, and what wont.

My civic was a well handling car and regualr at Autocross every weekend, and i plan to do the same with this forester, and this time around, because ive got a job that provides me with more than enough funds, and experience where i will acheive what i want in a faster and better fashion (civic i kind of learned on as i went along). I plan to do everything right the first time around, so patience is a virtue here.

Thanks for the compliments guys! You know, as much of a toaster as it looks, the thing grips harder and better than i expected it to, moreso than my civic did, which had full coilovers, X-brace, Swaybars, strutbars, chassis braces, aftermarket Control arms, and was Autocrossed on a weekly basis for a few years. So as far as suspension goes, Im still somewhat swaying in my decision.... I have my heart set on doing Aftermarket struts with some good lowering springs, perhaps STi brand and good tophats (camber adjustable). I dont want to drop it that much, but i want a sporty feel from it, and judging by what allot of SF5 owners do on other suby forums (esp forester.org), that seems to be the best bang for the buck.
On the other hand, BC racing does make some really nice coilovers for my year that are fully adjustable so i am contemplating that, but they arent cheap, so i have some deciding to do. Although, im thinking of holding off on any ride-height changes until march/april, because i want to keep it as is for this winter. Quote:

Hey, I got my ISC N1s from a vendor on NASIOC. I don't go on there that often unless I'm looking for Legacy specific stuff that MIGHT fit the Baja. Lol. I'm really pleased with them over all. Less than a grand shipped. Pillow ball on all 4 corners & camber plates out front on mine. If you're a member there look up ISC coilovers & go from there. I went with AJW.

Process took about 5 hours total (started at lunch and was done by dinner) , but the result was absolutley incredible. Re-installed the wheel weights when they were dry to the touch, tightened it all up and let it dry overnight. |
