The time has come
Well my WRX motor developed a rod knock this past weekend. With that being said. It has come time to order a new motor. I plan on ordering a V8 JDM STI Spec C motor, with harness, Twinscroll Turbo, IA Performance AVCS wiring kit and JDM ecu. I have to order a downpipe from Europe to continue my uncatted ways. As well as adding a little bit of pipe to my catback to meet up with the downpipe! With that said I'll let you guys know when the motor swap is taking place. Stop by and cheer us on.

Forgot to mention, after its up and running...I'm taking it over to Xotic and let Andy install and tune Ecutek on my car. I want it tuned for 300hp at the wheels!

transmission too? if i were you i'd go with the transmission and full drivetrain including brakes at the same time...
i guess kg is sourcing it for you? thats pretty sweet... bryan |
SOunds like it will be a sweet car ej208 right?

OMG thats sick I can't wait to see it
|
I would like to get the transmission and all that, but its tight for the funds as is getting the motor. Down the road... Its an EJ207!

V8 Sti spec C's are EJ20K here is some data i know off hand becuase I almost got one for the RS/WRX thingy. it has an 8.0 compression ratio, it runs 15.4 psi, closed deck, has a simultaneous ignition system, 271 crank hp, 253 ft-lb |
well I did change my mind about which motor I was getting...I ordered a V7 STI motor...These came with a vf30 turbo and forged internals! Should be in my possession in a lil over a week. God i miss my car!

hotness.......
|
A little update, all parts are on there way...they should be here end of the week or by next week. Motor arrived in the states today! Everything is coming together!
|
Make sure you do a leak down test on the motor before installing it. Make sure it is in good health before installing it, because now is this time to fix something.
|
everything will be checked!!! thank you for the advice

Oh, and start saving for a tranny. It's a shame you bought an engine already because you can pick up "complete" packages for pretty cheap and sell what you don't want. I know how the $$ is sometimes though. Swap your rear end, tranny, brembos, axles, drive shaft up to STI spec. I've seen them for as low as $8K complete with rear end and brakes.
You did get one of the better STI engines though. Hope you plan on putting a turbo to it to utilize the power holding potential of the V7 someday. 300whp is only a stepping stone to 400whp. |
