Spotted: Slammed gray VW Rabbit @ VW Dealer on 309 (pic inside)

I was at the VW Dealership yesterday in Montgomeryville (on 309) and saw this gray slammed VW Rabbit. Its usually parked on the road behind the dealership. I think the owner works at the dealership, but don't know. Does anyone know who's car this is? I just got a Rabbit and wanta talk to the guy.

Yea, there is a lot of little work that you cant see in this pic that makes the car. I need help lowering my car, never worked on a VW before, just got a 2008 Rabbit.

these cars arent hard to work on. i hope you are purchasing/bought a MATCHED spring/strut combo or coilovers or air suspension.

drop springs on stock struts sucks.

but yea, the suspension work is simple, you will need an alignment now with the IRS that the mk5 has

I have done a lot of suspension work... just never a VW. damn... i was hoping to get away w/o doing an alignment with a 1.5 inch drop.

when you lower your car at all you are usually going to throw of the camber, and toe not matter how minimal the drop is you should always get an alignment after doing suspension work

TalonTsi97 11-21-2010 02:04 PM

How can you plan to lower a car in any way w/o an alignment?

nhanxsolo 11-22-2010 01:49 PM

That car looks like its just a static drop, so coilovers. They're pretty straightforward. I would suggest getting an alignment after any sort of drop for sure. Personally I didn't align any of my cars after dumping them. It would help with wear on tires, but not enough to justify paying for an alignment IMO. Both my cars drive straight and uneven wear is guaranteed with as much camber as I have on the miata.
