Just another miata move along...

It's a customer's car, just finished dyno'ing it and did a little impromptu photo shoot.

She puts down 225 whp, which at 2550 lbs is a whole lotta fun. This is with a very conservative tune since it is meant for track time and not drag racing. Equipped with a cosworth supercharger we put in, and a real bomex body kit paint matched and with some custom touches.

Its not quite as fast as my turbo (sc's lose about 10-20% hp to spin it), but look at the torque!

I won't begin with the mod list but the battery itself costs over 1g (lithium  )

cant say I love the front, but thats just me.

car looks good. that spoiler is def an attention whore lol

sparky 10-30-2010 12:12 PM

Nice,but looks like a catfish.

TalonTsi97 10-30-2010 12:23 PM

Front end makes me think its trying to hard to be a s2000. A cosworth s/c is gotta be a good chunk of change, but i bet its a blast to drive.

97TurboDSM 10-30-2010 12:44 PM

whatever. thats how a ****ing miata should look. that **** is tough

jspek 10-30-2010 12:57 PM

you made a 3rd gen look good.

Teku18 10-30-2010 01:19 PM

Looks awesome for a Miata has it gone to the track yet?

carsmoneynwomen 10-30-2010 01:35 PM

Looks good

mann 10-30-2010 01:52 PM

not since the SC went in, just some auto-x days. New ohlins suspension just went in, and then brakes need to be done to handle the extra power for next season.

as for the look no it is not for everyone, no body kit is, but this is a legit and quality kit and in person this thing is something else. Don't forget it is functional and not just for looks. At speed even with the 13kg front springs it settles something like an inch if not more. The aeros in the stock car are lacking and I can tell you from experience and a sentiment echoed by a lot of other NC drivers, above 120 it becomes awfully light in the rear without a wing.

Picc.Dc4 10-30-2010 02:07 PM

I have to say I love it! I think that kit works really well, the stance is beautiful, the color is great! I think its one of the nicest miata's I've ever seen, and I love miata's!

TalonTsi97 10-30-2010 02:12 PM

Yea don't get my last post wrong it's def a badass miata especially for that body style. I don't think I've seen another look that cool.

Perfect.

They have sufficient factory rollover protection to get away without a bar? Or does the hardtop count?

JST2KWIK 10-30-2010 02:29 PM

I love everything about this car

Foolinaround 10-30-2010 02:39 PM

Depends who you ask. In reality what would you rather have? Plastic top or a roll bar?

The owner will be doing something about that in the future however it will have to be custom, not many options for the hard top variant at this time.

the ride height and little wheels with big flares make it look silly from the factory. But once those "omissions" are corrected they look good :-p

fitftw 10-30-2010 06:26 PM

sick NC. I could've sworn I saw this car in central NJ the other day...

Vinny 10-30-2010 07:34 PM

Never seen this model MX5 done properly. Well done!

OutToWinPAHC 10-30-2010 08:14 PM
