Brake Upgrade for a 93' 240 vert???

I want to do a big brake upgrade for my vert. and looking for suggestions.

I found a nice thread explaining how to use the Sti stock brembo, but that is for a 5 lug rear...obviously mine is a 4 lug or I wouldn't be posting this. LOL

So my question(s): How hard is it to convert to a 5 lug?
Does anyone have a nice but reasonably priced idea?

Either that, or I think you can use a 350Z brake package or something to that effect... it's either the 350Z or the 300ZX...

yeah 300zx is the easier option....down off essington i think i saw like 3 @ u pull its with eitehr the alum or steel calipers....for the rear is a bit triky, dont know ow the 240 ebrake is, but i know on the 350, the ebrakse is essentiually a drum brake

Q45 Brakes or 300zx brakes are your best bet/cheapest option. My 240 has 300zx brakes and they're awesome. It's still 4-lug too, I just have 4 lug aftermarket slotted rotors with 300zx calipers/pads

You would be amazed at what just good rotors and pads can do.

Do you even have enough mods to make big brakes even worth it? How are you planning on driving the car?

Converting to 5 Lug is easy, but you don't have to. If your car is 4 lug, then take the 5 lug rotors to a competent machine shop and have them drill a 4 lug pattern in them. Come to think of it, a lot of Z32 Rotors actually come with 4 and 5 lug patterns drilled in them already.

To convert to 5-lug you just need new hubs front and rear, and the appropriate brake rotors to go with your calipers. If you want to go 5-Lug on the cheap, then you can use all S14 Stuff but you need the steering knuckle with Hub, Lower Control arm, spacers to adapt the S14 Knuckle to the S13 Strut/Coilover, S14 (Or Z32) Rear Hubs, and S14 Rotors. There are also conversion hubs out there as well that work with the S13 knuckle, but the quality of the bearings of some brands aren't the greatest.

I was thinking of doing this to mine:

Good brakes ARE a mod.

And a damn good one. Stock 240 brakes are a joke.

Damn truth.

Im doing 300zx rears and Q45 fronts. You can pick up the whole q45 setup (calipers, pads and rotors) for about $100. Everything bolts right on. Definitely an excellent bang for your buck.

Agreed. My brakes are utterly garbage.

This is going to be a semi-daily driver.
I'm in the middle of a SR20det swap, I'm keeping the boost a stock(9-10) for now.....and I'm that kid the puts neon light and light on the washer jets, thinking it will make car faster. LOL If that is what you were getting at??

You do realize that a bigger caliper =! better braking performance. Braking bias is going to be skewed and not ideal if they aren't sized correctly.

Thats why you need a proportioning valve :)

If you're on a budget use 300zx big brake kit. They look awesome if you re-do the calipers and they have well over enough stopping power. I use them on my S14 and S13 :)
