Fmic help!!

I have an 07 mazdaspeed3 and I'm lookin to get a frount mount. Found a used turboxs one on cl but it is just the core no piping. Talked to him and all about it he said the piping would be easy to find....what you guys think about this? Anyone have custom piping done? Where could I get piping? Thanks

Ebay. Buy universal piping, for about 90$ or so you can get an 8 piece set with couplers and T-bolts. You will just need to get it cut to fit.

Just save up a lil bit more money and find a complete used kit. Save you a lot of time and hassle.

less heat soak, so less hp loss after your car gets hot is a plus. and it will support higher boost levels from bigger turbos because it will flow better.

the downside is more turbo lag, because your piping will (usually) be longer and have a larger volume than stock.

I would wait for a complete setup. Making your own piping with a bunch of elbows and random pieces of pipe held together by a slew of couplers and clamps can easily turn into a troubleshooting nightmare.

The smaller amount of couplers = less places to leak.

You could have someone custom make it but your total bill would probably exceed the cost of a complete fmic kit.

Ryan @ www.area1320.com is the man if you still intend on having someone competent weld you a setup.

Your also going to need some sort of aftermarket intake to work with the txs fmic as the stock one wont work with it.

Too little couplers and you can have piping blowing off from engine/chassis movement. However humped couplers can help. I weld my own setups just using cardboard "cylinders" as a general guide. Front mounts will also have a slight pressure drop.

I really don't like running ebay front mounts when you can get precision cores for almost the same and almost all the top drag racers use them.
