My Stanced Dc5....gone

Well the 6 is gone...But my friend just gave me a really good deal on her base auto rsx with 57k on it so i bought it. I'm new to the Honda Scene, but my friends are all die hard honda guys, I was actually a Honda hater but coming from my Mazda 6 that was plagued with problems. I had to make the decesion to get the car really quick cuz of a bunch of reasons from the 6 dying to the insurance company, and I feel like I made a good choice. My friends are all thrilled I got a Honda, and now I can have them help me out with stuff and get me deals on their stuff instead of being the only guy with the mazda.

Ive got big plans for this car. But first things first, im prob gonna swap to the K20 in the type R and do a 6speed conversion at the same time, because my first impression of this car is it was SLOW. as you can see by my username.

Pics( Didn't have time for anything special so I just snapped a few)

Max's New RSX Build

Your 6 was pretty nice. I thought they were supposedly great cars like the 3's. Good luck with the Acura now

The deal on this was way too good to pass up, my friend needed it gone so I got it for a steal.

Thanks man, Hopefully I dont go too crazy with it, but coming from the mazda theres just so many parts out there for this thing, I've got like 3-4k in just exterior carbon fiber that I want lol

PunkboySL2 09-20-2010 09:49 PM

cool. Having it swapped from a base model should be cheaper on insurance too.

LOL. Cheaper on insurance?

5k if I want full coverage, 3k for no collision.

You must have the worst driving record in the world. or ur 16.

Maxxdsix 09-21-2010 12:57 PM

Nope, 18, 1 accident never a ticket.

The amount of work and money to swap it and do a manual conversion would make it it really just a money pit. You should recognize the excellent deal you got and capitalize on it. You got a good deal because your friend needed to unload it quick. Well you DONT need to unload it quick, so if you sold it, you could sit on it until you got fair market value for it. If you could make a couple grand off it and turn around an just buy a type-s... why not do that? Thats the way I'd go.

you should sell it and buy my my type s haha. but goodluck with the car

I guess you're on your own insurance policy? 5k/year is insane. Full coverage on my car at age 17 through my parents policy was half that.

Oh and it would be worlds easier/cheaper to sell it and buy a Type-S. (or preferably an 06+ Civic SI since the RSX is open diff)

is300bklyn 09-21-2010 08:56 PM

GREAT RSX, but the mazda6 look weird on CF hood, i think its better w/o it

I had plans for alot more CF but then the car started giving me more issues. It woulda been sick, but I honestly didnt like it either when it came down to it just being the hood in CF

Very true, I think that I could prob get what I paid for it again right now. The only thing stopping me from doing exactly that is the insurance prices. :(

I'm glad you came to your sences ad decided to get a fun new and yet daily driveable car. the 240SX i think was going to be a bad move for you. it looks clean. i'v always liked the RSX i hate honda's but the RSX is awsome. I was looking at a type S before i bought my eclipse.

Dont bother with the type S swap... its to time consuming and its not as easy to do as it is on older cars. if you really want one sell this thing and get the real deal. i'm assuming this ones an 06 or so they pull a nice amount, sell it and get an older type S. I would keep it though. they can be made to be fast.. I dunno if it has toptrinic but if it does thoes things are gangster. i got it in my eclipse and you can ask steve what he tough of it at the track:mrgreen:

Maxxdsix 09-21-2010 09:37 PM

can you read?
Insurance is 10000million dollars now, it will be 100000billion dollars for the type s...

And with the friends I have a honda motor swap is like changing a cars oil

Is it in your name or your parents name?

Did you look into insurance quots? Your price for an 06 base model could be the same as a low miles 03 type S. it all goes by the year of the car.

For instance my eclipse being an 06 is about $200 a month. if i would have gotten an 07 or 08 it would be about $300-$350 a month.
