i was wondering if there was a program like lightroom or aperture for a mac that is opensource/free?

you could try out gimp

or even just keep using iPhoto, if it came with your mac.

Keep it simple and work on getting the picture right straight out of the camera and not worry about altering it in PP. jmo tho

i was thinking gimp, i was just thinking there maybe something else. Maybe I'll just install that later. Ill give iPhoto a try too.

yea, iPhoto is nothing like Lr, but you can do some pretty basic stuff.

check out the 3 pics i posted in the random picture thread, on the last page, i just messed with these for a about a minute each in iPhoto and it made them a bit more interesting then straight out of the camera. minus the first one, which i desaturated in Ps. but you get the idea
