1/4 mile convertible record

This was on Hoosier Drag Radials, BW362, 34psi, 93 octane pump gas with methanol injection (30/70 mix with water) 10.4 AFR's (very rich), Conservative timing curve (15* up top) learning how to launch for the 1st time on a ACT 2900, ACT unsprung 6 puck disc and Hoosier drag radials. . I had a photo shoot for Modified Mag the night prior so I didn't have time to dial the tune in for the car after making some changes so it was breaking up in higher gears. Needless to say, there is still more in it

60' 1.86
330' 4.76
1/8 7.130
MPH 105.50
1000' 9.17
1/4 10.88
MPH 133.4

The car is now the QUICKEST and FASTEST Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder in the 1/4 mile.

Yea, It was tricky trying to figure out how to launch the car with the puck disc and DR's without bogging to a 2.2 60'....I played with the launch control up to 6500 rpm and it was still bogging. I decided to keep the launch control at 6500 and engage the anti-lag so I could build some boost off the line and for the most part, it worked well.

fulofkix 09-03-2010 12:36 PM

nice!

HQuakers 09-03-2010 01:04 PM

You can definitely get that 60' down a couple tenths. Then you'd be looking at mid 10s for sure. Good job.

RedBowTies88 09-03-2010 01:19 PM

x2 on the 60's im cutting 1.6's on street tires you should be at least there if not quicker.

congrats though thats are some damn impressive runs... and atco is my home track :D

TalonTsi97 09-03-2010 05:04 PM

it was the 1st time driving on those tires and launching that clutch. Times will definitely improve, hopefully oct 23rd at the Dsm/Evo vs WRX showdown at e-town

etown is a slower track then atco, generally myself and my friends can only run within 2/10's of our atco times... just FYI in case you didnt know. atco is the place to set records:wink:

TalonTsi97 09-09-2010 02:17 AM

I'm basing the times to improve on the issues on the day he ran 10.88, cooler air, more experience, and maybe some upgrades to the car traction wise. No matter what clean passes will equal better times for this car.
