can't enter certain symbols in posts - $#%, etc.

I hate to start an entire thread for it, but I see no other area for minor problems. In one particular post I was trying to write '95 percent' and when I would hit submit, it would change the percentage symbol to look like this - 95% - . I also tried in other posts to enter other symbols, like # $ & @ and it did almost the same thing.

I have tried this from 3 separate computers here at work, and also my home computer last night. Maybe my account just has GonoSyphiHerpAIDS or something... I have no idea. Here's the most recent attempt (post #2):

Again, I hate to start a whole thread, this is kind of lame, but maybe it's a small problem that would lead to larger ones?

^ I saw that. I just figured it was your first time using a keyboard.

TROLL 08-16-2010 09:00 AM

TROLL 08-16-2010 09:01 AM

Protege v2.5 08-16-2010 10:55 AM

Could it be browser related?

DC2.2GSR 08-16-2010 11:16 AM

i was thinking that, since i use Firefox and it has been finicky lately, but the other computers here at work only have Internet Explorer installed. I also tried opening IE here on my main computer and editing my post and it still does the " 95% "

420sx 08-16-2010 12:02 PM

Im getting the same thing. Vbulletin has the chylmidaghonocyphaherpilaids.

DaveSTi 08-16-2010 01:22 PM

Oh man if you try to google it it's a tarp! If you put in the string % it says no results found for (the symbol for percent).

Turbo_CitrusEs 08-21-2010 12:50 AM

so is their a fix for this yet?? It keeps changing my percentage into %

morla 08-21-2010 10:35 AM

This is annoying 100% of the time. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!

by the way Safari is a negatory on working

ASIAN JUL 08-21-2010 11:28 AM

So it's just displaying the HTML number instead of the actual symbol... hrm

can't enter certain symbols in posts - $#%, etc.

I see the % 'percent' sign fine on my iphone

Turbo_CitrusEs 08-24-2010 01:20 AM

So not to be pushy or anything, but is this gonna get fixed anytime soon??

TROLL 08-24-2010 01:39 AM

A way around it is instead of posting using 'quick reply' instead click 'go advanced' and post from there... thats all the new info I have.

This issue has been brought up to vBulletin and they have not found a fix for it, so nope, unfortunately I can't tell you when this will be resolved.

TROLL 11-16-2010 08:55 AM

I just wanted to update to let everyone know that we finally fixed this issue. Feels great to take care of one of the 'annoying little rattles' of the site :)

jesse096 11-16-2010 04:26 PM
