I plan on going. i havent auto crossed in a couple years and since i just got fresh tires and clutch i plan on running. just wondering if anyone else on here is going?

I may try to swing by to meet up with the Evo crew that hits up all the Philly region events. It just all depends on my work schedule and what not. If i am there i'll be able to video some of the runs if the course is friendly.

I'll be there in my silver m3. There's 2 silver m3's, mine is the one not piloted by a female ;) Come say hi.

We were at the last event and it was a blast! Hot as hell, but a blast.

We were gonna go on Sunday but my sister is getting married and of course her schedule must conflict with my autoX schedule... NOT COOL!
Aug 29th may be out of the question too, since it might be Bachelor Party time. Hopefully my little girl can understand why Daddy is not at her BDay party in September (26th).

We were gonna go to Englishtown on Saturday, but between HIN and the 100 degree temps I doubt it. AND I"M ANTSY, we just got rear camber for the civic.

Wow you have unbelievably bad scheduling luck. Clearly some powerful force would prefer you didn't autocross.

how does just spectating work out?

Parking?
Places to Watch from?
Places to take Pictures from?

I'd like to come check one of these out.

You show up, sign a waiver, pull in, find a parking spot that doesn't interfere with any racers, walk out into the field behind the caution tape, watch/photo/video etc.
There is also a way to get a "media" pass and photo but i've never done that. You need a spotter as well for that.

Parking is free
You can watch from the parking lot or the field just left of the course.
take pics where ever you wish.
you can also help out if you wanna get in the action and stand in the course and grab cones if knocked over by cars.

i might go out to this in the suzuki, dont know yet though.

piku 07-23-2010 10:16 AM

to anyone who is a novice and worried about it, don't be. at any given autocross the novices outnumber those with experience. there will be people going off course, going into the grass (though that's frowned upon), running over massive amounts of cones, etc. there's lots of instructions nad lots of people who will point you in the right direction. Just read the novice handbook on phillyscca.com.

Never been to one of these but I'm definitely going to come out. What time does the event usually start? I may not race but I'm trying to get an idea on when I need to be there if Im going to.

Edit: found the schedule on the Philly SCCA site
