No but i was on the trip with most of the Turbo Magazine staff, the editor of SCC, some Primedia photographers, and some otehr industry guys.....it was a real good time! :supz:

If u look at the Newport Beach/OC album, you will see the SCC project 350z (supercharged) and the project S2K...both at the editors house in Newport....I hung out there for a bit too en route back to PA.

Mind telling me how you got in touch with these guys? Seriously, PM me or something, editing/freelancing for a magazine like that is where I want to be in a few years.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

I just had so much fun looking at these pics, its sad though looking at those makes me realize how far i have to go. Must have been great though man, its one of my personal dreams to go there.

pearlcoupeg35 04-03-2006 06:47 AM

Thanks for the props fellas...

Yes, this trip was AMAZING! and i will def be going back next year for sure! The cost of the trip was high - and Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities in the world, so spending money went VERY quickly - like $80 for dinner (just for me without drinks) was not uncommon....

If anyone is SERIOUSLY interested in going next year, PM me and ill share the details with you. Be prepared to spend north of $2200 for just the trip - and another $500 or so once your there...but is it worth it??? HELLZ YEA!

In the course of 6 days, i did the following......

- hung out in downtown Tokyo (super cool place)
- Saw more UNREAL JDM cars than i ever knew existed...Skylines are like dime-a-dozen over there...
- Went to the Tokyo Auto Salon - VIP Passes - all access...
- Drove some BADASS cars at Motegi Twin Ring track (Evo 6, RX7, Silvia, etc)
- Tried drifting for the first time w/help from Daijiro (Pacific rim team)
- Ate some rediculous sushi
- Partied some...
- Met some amazing people (ceo's, photographers, editors, drivers, etc)
- And a LOT more...

So if JDM cars are your thing - and you like to travel, and dont mind a 13 hour plane ride (from LAX) then this trip is for you...

:driving:
