However for some unknown reason police officers with holstered weapons do not cause this same phenomenon.

It's the ol' ostrich/head-in-the-sand/fingers-in-the-ears method of living in your own little world. Apparently some people will simply pee their pants in horror upon the mere sight of a firearm (unless it's carried by a cop ). For these people, simply hiding the firearm will instantly ease their fear, much like an ostrich sticking it's head in the sand in a pathetic attempt to hide from a predator. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.

If I was that terrified of guns I think the best course of action would be to move out of PA and into NY or NJ. Here in PA we value our personal freedoms and our right to self-preservation. If guns scare you so much move some place where they are heavily restricted. Of course the states with the tightest gun laws also have the highest rates of violent crime, but that's of no concern to someone who is already obviously not very familiar with the concept of logic and critical thinking.

the funniest thing is, there was at least one person open carrying at the sonic meet and no one even noticed.

well said. if you don't like it, leave. lol. all the ignorant sheep flock to those states (NY, NJ, etc) because they think it's 'safe'. they genuinely think that by outlawing or severely restricting gun ownership, criminals are just going to turn in their weapons and go home. in reality, it just limits peoples' rights so severely that criminals are allowed to go about their business unchecked.

i was one of the ones from this forum and there was another guy, older... maybe 50-ish... who was OCing as well. there were probably more, who knows. i sure didn't see every single person who attended. lol.

Itstock - I appreciate your insite. Next time I'm at the gun shop I will pick up a P238 and see how it feels. I remember holding it one time and realizing it was a tad heavy and a tad bigger then the LCP but maybe I'm just dreaming. I understand your point about money should not be considered but for me its one thing that does come into play when deciding on the gun. I'd rather spend $300 and have the other $200 towards a holster or two and some practice ammo then spend it all on the gun. I also am more comfortable with a hard trigger and no safeties as I currently carry a Glock 26 90% of the time.

Went to the range tonight and put 150 rounds through my XDM. Felt damn good, especially since I just spent the last week and a half doing nothing but writing papers. Now I get to spend another week finishing more papers then taking exams. I'll be at the range for a good two days solid to get all of this out of my system. lol

Next time I go to the range my semester will be over. I will be bringing a copy of every paper that I had to write for finals and I'll be blasting the crap out of them. lol

perfect day to take out the machine guns

rodder 05-05-2010 10:36 AM

**** ranges!

My buddy lives on a farm surrounded by over 1000 acres of farm land up in Bangor. I go shooting over there almost every weekend.

I'd invite everyone over but I'm not sure he'd appreciate me bringing a bunch of strangers with guns over. We should meet up somewhere for a shoot so we can all get properly acquainted, then have another shoot at his house where we can really have some fun. Exploding targets, life-size zombies, moving targets, incendiary tracers, mag dumps, skeet shooting, etc etc...

Well scuuuuse me lol, I don't have the privilege of knowing someone with 1,000 acres of farm land

rodder 05-05-2010 10:42 AM

well doesn't that just suck for you... lol ;)

Actually he only owns about 2 acres, but a farmer down the road owns all the surrounding farmland and doesn't care when or how much we shoot as long as he's not out plowing the fields. :)

So when's the 1st annual TST group shoot?
