You guys need to start posting in here when you're going out to shoot. I'm laid off (again) so I've got plenty of free time lol.

Once I'm convinced you guys aren't a bunch of wack jobs I'd love to invite you over to my buddy's farm. Him and I both have some toys that we play with over there at least a couple times a month. Last year for halloween we got some dollar store zombie masks and some old clothes and put the masks on gourds and pumpkins and made zombie targets. We even got fake blood packets and put them inside their shirts lol. Exploding targets, incendiary tracers, mag dumps... anything goes, except of course, improper gun handling.

You're right, It is a SGL up on the way to Cabelas. It's right off of 22 west. Free range, 3 rounds loaded in each rifle mag, 6 in pistols. I have never seen a single person at the range. Its waaaaay out in the boonies and its such a well kept secret Im not sure I want to reveal its location lol.

We do need to have a TST shoot and I have had enough of people talking about it. I'm going to make a thread in the Meet forum right now. We can meet at Cabelas and then all drive over.

The pistol closest to the AK is a new Kel Tec pf9. Worlds lightest and thinnest 9mm.

Ill bring all my toys to the range.

Go check the meet thread now!

Drftpretty 08-19-2010 09:06 AM

Here she is guys!

Dont puss out now.

Vote now for date of the meet!

Do it, it was easy and pretty quick turnaround from FL.

Best of all? The guy signing it is "Charles Bronson", lol.

I have VA, UT and FL, it's very nice to have the extra reciprocity when camping, etc...

Sorry, it was actually the Philadelphia Daily News. The response letter is no longer available on the Daily News' website (what a surprise ), but luckily a fellow PAFOA member copied and pasted it. Here is a link discussing the original article and the response from Mr. Bronson:

http://www.snowflakesinhell.com/2010...to-daily-news/

and this is the letter that was written:

The article says that a police lieutenant complained that our program is run by civilians - not law-enforcement authorities. As head of the Florida Department of Agriculture Consumer Services, I am a statewide elected official and certified law-enforcement officer, and we employ more than 250 sworn officers in our office of agricultural law enforcement.

Every application we receive for a concealed-weapon license is sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and FBI for a criminal-background check to determine if the applicant is qualified to receive such a license.

Since the program's inception in 1987, we have issued 1,704,624 licenses and only 5,308 license holders have committed offenses warranting revocation - a rate of just under a third of 1 percent. What, of course, is impossible to know is how many of the law-abiding citizens who possess such licenses were able to protect themselves, their families and property during the 23 years of the program's existence because they had the right to carry a weapon.

Pennsylvania is one of 33 states with which Florida has a reciprocal agreement, meaning those possessing licenses from those states can legally carry a weapon in Florida, and Florida license holders can carry a gun in those states.

States that enter into the reciprocal program must be satisfied that the states with which they are involved have standards and laws at least as rigorous as their own.

For whatever reason, the city of Philadelphia appears to have adopted standards and screening processes that go beyond Pennsylvania state law, according to your article, including arbitrary assessment by local police of an applicant's "character and reputation."

We have followed the law - and always will - in issuing concealed-weapon licenses to law-abiding citizens and in suspending or revoking licenses of license holders who commit offenses under the law disqualify them from continuing to have that right.

Florida Department of Agriculture

and Consumer Services

I went to a class held at Target World in Chalfont, all three at one shot. I don't honestly remember the cost, but I'm sure your local range has something similar.

Well thanks to Jay (Pagoda240) I'm now the proud owner of a Ruger 10/22. Already has a synthetic body, aluminum folding stock and BSA 4x32 scope. Picking it up next week probably once my Sig P229 mags come in that I ordered as well.

Looks exactly like this one but with a different scope.

rodder 08-27-2010 07:23 PM

congrats!

I think every person in america should own a 10/22. They are awesome little rifles.

Munky 08-27-2010 08:05 PM

Well I already have a GSG-5...but its a little bit on the heavy side weight wise for my son to handle comfortably. So while ordering some new mags for my Sig P229 today I just happened to ask if they had any 10/22's sitting around. They had a stock one and the one I got. The stock one was all but the same price. I figured this one has a nice head start on being tacticool like my GSG-5 and its still light enough for my son to manage. I keep telling myself...it's for my son. But I already have a 50rnd drum on order as well as some other goodies. :o
