Show us your gear!

Other forums have threads like this and it can be fun - I like seeing different camera/lens combos so, post up pics of your gear!

I will post mine after the first few

cupofnoodles 04-19-2010 04:04 PM

how are the d70's?

95legenddriver 04-20-2010 06:40 PM

D70 is a beast and now outdated but still fast. last time i checked it (summer '09) it had like 78000 clicks. its scary how it just keeps going and going. the underwater housing is made for the D70 and well worth it

You all make me very, very, very sad.

sisforsurfing 05-09-2010 04:40 PM

Nah, don't say that. Dick-swinging doesn't take good pictures.
I'm more proud of my stuff actually being organized and presentable for once than the actual kit, haha.

djb5118 05-09-2010 04:41 PM

Here's a quick shot I took right before I left for NZ. Some stuff isn't pictured like my Gorillapod Focus + Ballhead, Bogen Legs w/ pan head, spare body (D50) and some other misc stuff.

Main body is a D700 with grip and battery pack though. Next purchases will be the 70-200VRII and something with DC like the 135m f2

My eyes literally popped looking at all of these pictures.... and then I drooled. Oh well, one day.

DC is the most stupid thing ever

The 135/2, however, is a stellar lens.
It's just I would never buy it for the DC "feature" alone

I guess...I'd get either the 105mm or 135mm which both have DC so it's a bit of a moot point.

I'll have to get a photo with the digital camera later, but I just have 3 lenses for it. I use it mostly for long-exposure night time stuff.

I think I have <$100 in that setup. Used FD lenses are so cheap.

Well since im new to the game, I figured I would get something on the lower end. I also had budget to think about and sony offered a decent camera well within my budget and I wanted to try something other than the norm nikon/cannon. This camera also has some nice menus for the newbie like me that visually graphs how aperture and shutter speed work (i dont use it much however but it is good reference for me):

http://photos.pcpro.co.uk/images/fro..._136357_52.jpg

or u can use a more typical menu (ive used other people's cannon rebels before)
(not same camera..)
http://www.digitalcamerareview.com/assets/13878.jpg

Most people hate the grip on this camera but it feels just fine to me :). I have had good experiences with sony products in the past so I figured I'd give it a try, and so far it has been a good camera to me. Maybe not best of the best, but its not lowest of the low either lol.

SoStock92 09-05-2010 12:09 AM

Nice - i never really looked up the sony stuff, I see them pop up on dpreview.com but I rarely read. The graphs are cool for sure.

YellowMSP 02-02-2011 11:58 PM

whats with the non L on the first 7D? man I thought you had more class than that.
There is also a company that makes some really nice inserts and lid accessories for the pelican case's if you are interested i can try to dig them up, I bought a nice configurable case inset and lid insert. Do you have a separate case just for the bodies?

oh and what do you do for work?

I'd be interested in seeing the inserts, but the pull apart ones work well too.

I am getting a second pelican as I still have a lot of stuff (flashes, remote triggers, etc). I have a big lowepro bag but I learned that packing things into the car, hard cases are the way to go
