Dumped Trailerblazer SS

We got the opportunity to install front coilovers on Jake's TBSS today at GV...dropped about 3". Rear was done by adjusting the sensors. End result speaks for itself!

tcturbo91 03-19-2010 12:14 AM

i like it lowered with some stock wheels i think itll look good. what do you mean the rear was lowered with sensors? does the truck have a stock air ride system or something? (i dont think so?)

Yes, it does have rear air ride from the factory. The sensors can be adjusted to bring the rear down.

Sberk06 03-19-2010 07:42 AM

wheel spacers possibly?

vdcoff 03-19-2010 09:12 AM

this is nice man! I always liked the TBSS's, thought about buying one myself, maybe one day I'll find a nice used one.

Eclipse GSX 61 03-19-2010 01:10 PM

Needs matching tint on the front and it'll look pretty boss. Otherwise nice truck.

Honduh 03-19-2010 07:50 PM

Not dumped.

wonner 03-19-2010 07:53 PM

Yes, I think "dumped" is the wrong choice of words.

JC Turbo 03-20-2010 11:27 PM

it's one of a few vehicles I'd consider driving that's not manual, but yeah the interior and dash are a huge turnoff (shocker from chevy!)

and would most likely end up being a breaking point in a sale for me at least IMO....

Do some research on them and the dash becomes a small sale breaking point compared to some of the other stupid things that happen to them from the factory. lol. Some of the AWD trans' are excellent at flying apart after about 20hp over stock. And a certain number of 06's and 07's had an oil consumption problem from the day they rolled off the assembly line. No leaking, no noticeable burning, the oil level just goes down for no good reason.

I still love the trucks to death but I would NEVER buy one that didnt have a warranty left on it. They definitley take a special breed of person to own one.

Kind of like banging a REALLY hot chick with herpes. You kno she's got problems but you choose to hit it with protection because she ****s like a thoroughbread

well then I guess it's a good thing I'm really not looking for one. It's just on my short list of vehicles I'd consider driving that's an automatic. And of course if I did want one I'd do the research, but looks like you've done it for me, I'll stay away from these

ChargerPrincess2 03-24-2010 06:41 PM

nicest blazer ive seen.

TROLL 03-24-2010 07:13 PM

nice... just so i can educate myself, you said the rear has air ride from the factory? i assume its not intended to be at that height but with modification of the 'sensors' it can be using all stock parts? if you can explain that more i'd be interested to learn about it.

TypeSL_T 03-24-2010 11:02 PM

There is a small rod that attaches to a sensor and the axle housing/lower control arm. When the axle housing/lower control arm moves up or down, the sensor detects it and will adjust the rear air accordingly, so as to keep the ride height close to stock. To 'adjust' the sensor, they just manipulated the attaching point either at the housing or at the sensor. The attaching point on the axle housing/lower control arm is normally just a small bracket welded to the housing/lower control arm. Much easier to explain with pics, but that is the best I can do right now.
