i remeber seeing on TV, that they just don't want anybody owning one. Not only do they check your credit score and income, but also what you have drivin in the past, where you live, and the kind of roads you'll be driving the car on.

And also, that you can't just sell it if you get bored with it, or can't afford. Something along the lines of you basiclly have to "give" it back to lexus

NowThatsG 03-18-2010 03:27 PM

that's some dumb s*** right there and the car doesnt even look good like that. it may be fast and handle well, but i think if i saw it on the road id give it a "wtf is that thing"(not a compliment) over "damn that car is sick". the rear of it just looks stupid and i bet the exhaust is fake, just like with the isF:roll:

f lexus, id rock a beemer or a benz over any lexus any day

i love it. overpriced yes, but its still super sexy

SpEcRv9 03-18-2010 03:50 PM

and the only people that continue to cry about it, are people on forums like this that can't afford the car....

I'm not crying, I'm making fun of. The price of the car just makes it have more LOLz.

Scapegoat 03-18-2010 04:30 PM

so you basically lease the car upfront? and have the option of purchasing at the end? not a huge deal for people that can afford it.

its been said before that this car has been in development for so long that lexus is never going to break even on it.

its a pretty slick car though

DPancoast 03-18-2010 05:43 PM

worth every penny if you ask me

pinacup7 03-18-2010 07:14 PM

Stop hating because you can't afford one. This car is for multi-millionaire's not guys sitting on forums all day because they are bored at work.

The reason for the lease is because they want the car to be driven. This lease only applies in the US as well. After the 2 years of "leasing" the car, the car will be inspected and if they feel you are using it as it should be you will be able to keep the car, and all your lease payments go towards the total bill like any other car.

ndubz 03-19-2010 11:25 AM

Thing is, that car is great, but its not better than say a Gallardo LP560 (hell even a Murcielago LP640), Ferrari 458, used Carrera GT, used SLR, etc.

I know theyre only making a few hundred of these and they will probly all be sold, mostly to people who have the money to have any and all the cars they want. but as a car itself, i just couldnt justify spending that much when i could have a new lambo for half that price.

I love the LFA though, its just one of those cars that I would never buy.

Elliott18t 03-19-2010 11:29 AM

you have to be selected to own it lol. what is this a ferrari enzo?

**Alex** 03-19-2010 11:42 AM

Looks kinda like a "Rich Mans Skyline" to me (from the front).

11secdsm 03-19-2010 11:46 AM

Definitely not seeing the issue here.

Exactly.

World class performance, world class reliability, world class exclusivity, world class technology, world class amenities... etc

While I think that I would rather buy a 458 Italia over this car, I AM NOT their target buyer. These are for the real wealthy people who have all sorts of super cars and not bargain-shopping for one.

It's not always about HP/$

**Alex** 03-19-2010 01:17 PM

I just hope the gas pedals don't get stuck.

GPtuner 03-20-2010 10:58 AM

i hope that LSA can beat the GTR if it costs that much

only if your pooping out money your in it so deep, your average upperclass man is going to shop around till he thinks he's found the best bang for the buck

once a pullied and tuned ZR1 beats him on the highway hes gunna feel awfully pissed

So I guess pulling on a car on the highway shows that is it automatically better?

RSX Type-Slow 03-20-2010 02:30 PM

what alot of people dont understand is this car is not only about exclusivity, its going to start a whole new trend of a dealerships attention to detail. Lexus is developing a custom trailer for the car to be picked up from the clients house to be brought to the dealership for routine work. Lexus is choosing their elite mechanics and certifying them to work on the LF-A (mechanics who already have their master Lexus certificate), and even then they will be chaperoned by a Lexus regional rep AND Lexus's own personal LF-A rep. Not every dealership will qualify to get a LF-A ( much like a GTR) and fewer will be able to work on them. I've also heard rumors of the car getting a full detail after every scheduled service but i cannot confirm this. I work as a Lexus service consultant and Lexus has chosen our dealership to possibly have a LF-A trained technician and possibly have on in our showroom (but then again, this is rumored at my work).

And the reason Lexus isn't selling these cars outright to people is because they want to keep the exclusivity and prestige (plus it'll stop people from buying them then flipping them over to another dealership that'll sell them for 100k over MSRP much like what happened to the enzo and the ford gt). AND it's also to help keep the cars in the hands of a certain clientele. Lexus doesn't want so see their flagship pride and joy in the hands of some mtv rapper who just struck it big with a hit song and bought it after someone traded it in for a lambo.

good statement. I think they effort needed to buy this really weeds out people who truly want the vehicle, vs those "rappers" and lotter winners

this is a car for the true car collector, not for a guy who wants his first exotic.

you clearly don't understand that the guy that buys this car, can also afford a lambo, ferrari or probably any car he really wants to and most likely already has them.

this car isn't for the average upper class guy..and lexus won't give the car to the average upper class guy.

oh so once the millionare in the stock LF-A who probably has multiple sick nasty cars, loses to the guy in the modded zr1 he's gonna be upset that he lost?...get real..

RSX Type-Slow 03-20-2010 04:29 PM

60 years from now the LF-A will be in the pebble beach concours de' elegace. I'm sure a bunch of other super exotics will also be in the show, but I doubt they will be as highly regarded. And I am by no means a Lexus fanboy.

yeah when i saw a show on tv on the most expensive car on the world- they were auctioning an auto union racecar that was driven in the olympics during hitler's reign. It was gonna go for around $15 million+ and there were a bunch of people who wanted it to add to their collection.

I saw that, very interesting, they ended up not selling it because of it's questionable race history...but damn I was thinking the whole time "that hunk of metal (albeit awesome metal), 15 million?"

Bobcat 03-20-2010 11:28 PM

I think Lexus is just an overpriced Toyota. When my wife wanted to trade the minivan for a SUV, we looked at a RX 350 and a Highlander Limited - bought the Highlander!

I would hate to drop that much $ on that car, even if I could afford it. It just doesn't do it for me.

It is an overpriced Toyota, with nicer and better materials, more luxury and much better standards. What you don't realize is that Lexus is about the overall dealer experience. Does your highlander get picked up at your house when it needs service and do they leave you a brand new 2010 RX at your disposal? Didn't think so. When/if you decide to wait for your service is your toyota dealership going to have hd tv's, drinks and food, wireless internet? Also if your are a good customer and do all your service's Lexus takes care of you big time. Say your wife hit's a curb and need's a rim, a control arm, tire, alignment - your looking at a $2000 dollar bill. Well if you are a good customer and its the first time they will cover it for you. As a tech myself and other's we don't understand how they can do what they do. Another perfect example older rx 300 owners thought their cars didn't need oil changes. We have installed complete shortblocks and new heads for free on cars with 160k miles with sludge that looks like jello!!!!
Lexus is about the overall dealer experience and taking care of their customers and they do an excellent job at that

MPowerKai 03-21-2010 10:57 AM

It's ok, just think of it as a cheap Ferrari FXX.

For that kind of money I'd rather throw down another few hundred thousand and get a Lamborghini Reventon though, only 21 of those vs. 500 LFA's

Well said. Big difference between Toyota and Lexus in terms of service...not even mentioning the difference in materials, technology, etc.

I agree with this 100%

Im not sure if i even had that kinda cash id buy it but i would definately think about it. The price is seriously steep but again with the exclusivity of the car youll probably be either 1 of 3 people or maybe even less in all of NYC with that car..
