RIP Sport Compact Car
For any of us journalist types this especially scary, but just downright sad for whoever is a fan. This magazine used to be the holy grail of small-car performance and now has had the plug pulled. Bummer, I grew up reading this magazine and have every issue for the past 8 or so years.
First it was Turbo, now SCC. Weaaaak. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/21/s...aying-off-115/ |
rip we will miss you....
Source Interlink sucks.
Just a sign of the times. Printed material is on it's way out with the popularity of the interwebs.
I want my subscription fee back then!
EDIT: LOL Nevermind, I get Modified. LOL
That does suck though. |
Damn, SCC was the ****. WAY better than Super Street with their ugly chicks on ugly riced out cars. SCC was so technicall and allways had solid feature cars. This makes me sad :(
hah, that's kind of funny. I also can't believe magazines like Modified and Super Street stay alive (for now) but a mostly intelligent magazine lacking rice and booth bimbos gets the axe.
Or maybe I just answered my own question. The last few years the writing hasn't been as good, but the USCC is still cool and it's about as good as the tuner mags got. Quote:

wtf.. IMHO that is the ONLY rag word buying... its never filled with teh Uber OMGJDM show queens.
Yeah I'm real surprised to see that SCC is the one getting the ax... thats pretty beat.
wow can't believe it. Got an issue in the mail couple days ago and had the usual "you have 1 issue left" and asking me to renew.
I usually buy Honda Tuning and get Sports & Exotic Car by Hemmings. Sometimes picked up SCC, sad to see it go.
Print media is going away my friends.

Don't you guys love being able to actually read something that you're holding onto and isn't lit by LCD? There's such a better physical quality to good print. I realize i sound like a nostalgic old lady. |

SCC really went downhill the last couple years. The only issue(s) I would really look forward to was when it came time for the SCC USCC.
Damn and I just paid for a 2 year subscription.
never read it, i like to stick to honda tuning but now everything is so much online its not surprising to see this happen
I never really read sport compact car much.... But it really sucks to see some of the big names of the scene falling apart.
My Favorite magazines as far as imports go have been Import Tuner and then Super Street. |
****s weak.
With a magazine that was such a pinnacle for so much, I never woulda thought THEY would bite it. |
Supposedly Turbo staff is going to work for Import Tuner now, and the magazine will be beefier. Now that I hear they are letting staff go who knows whats going to happen. They better keep USCC alive in some magazine!
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO READ DURING POOPY TIME!?! |
Damn it! I just purchased a subscription and got my first magazine last week  I hope I get my $25 back.
wait turbo is gone? i have a subscription to turbo & modified, whens the last turbo issue supposed to be?
WTF that is so beat. Sport Compact Car is a lot of the reason I got into cars so heavily. I read them like the bible back in my senior year and learned a good bit just from it. Sad to see it go. Makes me feel a tiny bit older :(
WTF! I'm so mad. I've had this magazine for 5 years now. I was the best all around magazine. Wasn't riced at all. I'm surprised, what bull****. I know ppl who had their cars in the USCC for christ sake, they are gonna be HEATED. Oh well, I blame global warming.
I haven't had a subscription in quite some time because it got old for a little but I was just about to renew because it was getting good again. Sad to hear it, if they drop my Hemmings Sports and Exotics I'll be upset lol.
