Piercings....

Im thinking about getting my nipple done, I dunno if its a good idea or not. Anyone suggestions or input would be great....

Francesco 10-23-2005 07:25 PM

why just one? usually people get both done...

i have some friends with it, hey say it hurts bad and your nipples swell up pretty good. i guess it depends on the person...go to a good place though, do some research on it.

OutOfStock 10-23-2005 07:26 PM

yeah get both...i think one nipple ring is the same as getting only your right ear pierced, unless sayings have changed.

right ear only = ghey

slavetothemuzic 10-23-2005 07:47 PM

I would suggest you just do 'em both at the same time.

That way you can get all of the healing done at one time. If not, you get to go through the pain twice! Unless of course you're into pain, then I'd say do 'em one at a time.

Make sure you have an ice pack ready at home too. You'll be cool for a couple hours, until the adrenaline wears off, then you're gonna need that ice.

i have a zero pain tolerance so piercings and tatoos are a mute point for me. i think the nipples are kinda meh since no one sees them. piercings and tatoos are for display/art purposes, don't see a point in getting one hidden. ::shurgs::

Little G 10-23-2005 09:41 PM

ouch nipples would hurt...my ears are the only things being on me

The ones you don't see obviously aren't for show, they have other uses. http://www.aaroncarr.com/images/smileys/naughty.gif

I have a PA.

SexyDSM95 10-23-2005 10:01 PM

Well I have mine done for several different reasons. One reason being that for women it actually increases the flow of milk whenever I decide to become pregnant and nurse. I only have one done because it really really really really hurts. And I don't mean whe you are getting it done, I mean the healing process. Getting it done was not bad at all but half an hour to fourty-five minutes later I was whoozy and my nipple felt like it was on fire.

I am still undecided to going back to getting the other one done. It's been at least 3 months now and it still scabs up from time to time. Being a girl it's easier for me healing process wise because I just wore tight bras or shirts for the initial healing process. Other then that I love piercings/tats I have a few of each myself (10 piercings/2 tattoos).

I wouldn't say it hurts THAT bad, but I'm not gonna BS you, that s**t hurts for a few days.

That's why I said...ice. After the first day or so, it was just a dull soreness for a little bit.

No I have a high tolerance for pain and as I said in my statement it hurts. Not a sharp pain or anything like that just a nice burning sensation. Then after that, it's just really soar/swollen.

mmmmm that turned me on j/k

Like I said it doesn't hurt like a piercing pain, it's just a burning sensation. Then after that, it's swollen and it feels like you were working your bewbie muscle at the gym hardcore sore. Some people think it's worth it other's don't.

That's very true. Ya just gotta be careful when drying off getting out of the shower and putting on shirts for a little while.

the mike 10-24-2005 10:06 AM

I had both my nipples done at the same time. I guess my pain threshold is higher than most, becasue it really didn't hurt that bad. The pain really starts when it scabs up and you accidentally twist the shard of dried blood into the nipple itself. OUCH.

That's one of the few piercings I've seen that on a guy almost 100% of the time = http://www.aaroncarr.com/images/smileys/ghey.gif (not that there's anything wrong with that...ust an observation.)

You may well be. I'm not busting your balls about it. You'd be the first male I've talked to that had that done that was though.

I generally don't buy into stereotypes like that, so I don't care what you have pierced, or what your orientation is, but I noticed some earlier postings regarding single piercings having meaning, blah blah blah...if they don't want to give people the (very possibly mistaken) impression...that would be one to avoid. That's all.

seneca 10-24-2005 10:18 AM

If you care what other people think about your piercings then:
A. you got them for the wrong reasons
B. you have more to worry about than your sexual orientation
C. you should have spent the money on a good therapist

I say to each his own and less stereotyping and generalizing you do the better.

2Mopars1Ford 10-24-2005 10:20 AM

Heck I think ANY piercings on a guy are :screwy: I have none and never will.
On girls though i usually think of navel=hawt nipples ok with studs, trashy with rings etc
I don't go for the typical female tramp stamps either.

cavingchick 10-24-2005 10:24 AM

I use to have both of mine pierced. I didn't think that it hurt at all. I heard that it hurts tons more on guys. I took them out about 2 years ago because I had em done for over a year and they never completely healed and I was just damn tired of them hurting all the time. I think they are cool but make sure you don't get some whimpy gauge size. They look weird. Mine were a 10g. But ya, I agree with everyone else...get both, not just one. And if you can, I would ask to get a barbell instead of the doorknockers. I think they are cooler and supposedly they heal better.

I agree with you for the most part, but you do have do care in some instances, in my case, that would be work. I have two that I take out daily so I don't have to hear it from anyone at work (they're a little too uptight for their own good), and I used to have a labret, but took it out and left it out when I was job hunting (because it was too much of a pain in the ass to put back in constantly).

Generally, most piercers won't do small gauges on that one anyway, due to the risk of tearing.

So you are pretty old school to the point of "Girls with their tongues pierced are sluts"? I think piercings/tats are definately unique and create an individuality. Those who are more on the "emo" who just do things so they look cool are another story. It some sick and yet twisted way there is always a story behind every piercing and tattoo I have. There is also that slight pain from the needle that I somewhat enjoy. That doesn't make me too sadistic does it?
