Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs

Does anyone else have them?

These bugs are driving me insane!!
It's like a swarm has decided to use my house as its nesting area! It's so gross. I usually see like 4-5 a day..
But last night, I had it!, I was sitting watching tv, and I hear a buzzing sound, and I turn around and there are like 4, sitting on my wall.
I was able to get 3 of them.
I then called my dad in to show him, and he turned over the curtains in my room, and then my parents room, and the living room, and they were on the back of them...We musta got like 25-35 of them. Its real gross. I almost don't even wanna be in my house anymore!

Anyone else have them? As well as a way to get rid of them!!!??:bigeek:

CHAOS 10-01-2008 09:51 AM

i live in the woods, they are all over the place... i love when they are on the screens.. i flick the **** out of them. they dont get in the house tho.

we also have a ton of those big ass mosquito killers here at work.

Snoozie 10-01-2008 09:54 AM

I hate them. They scare me, like every other bug. Bugs shouldn't be that big.

rista 10-01-2008 09:54 AM

i flick them off the screens too. id rather them be on the screens outside..then in little hiding places inside and out!!

poisonivory 10-01-2008 09:59 AM

we get them too...whatever you do don't crush them! lol

if i find them in the house i usually grab them with a tissue and flush them down the toilet.

frosti108 10-01-2008 10:00 AM

yea man theyre all over the place here too. they like to chill under and behind stuff. sometimes if i flip a poster, there will be a group of them just chillin in there like WTF!

theyre really stupid though and will just let you scoop them up into like a soda bottle or something. i just scoop em up and throw em outside. one time i had one in a bottle, and i smashed the bottle as hard as i could onto a counter top. i looked inside and the stink bugs head just popped right off

oh and does anyone have those big stand up lights that point towards the ceiling? dumb ass stink bugs go sit in mine until they burn and then it stinks for a good 15 minutes and u can see it smoking

Scapegoat 10-01-2008 10:04 AM

for a very small fee, i can be hired to keep you safe from the scary bugs

CarbonIS 10-01-2008 10:31 AM

omg those little ****ing bastards are all over the place at my apartment. I must have literally killed 2 dozen of them yesterday IN my apartment.

I have no idea how they keep getting in! The worst part is my kitten keeps trying to catch them and in turn HE smells like a stink bug.

In case you don't know what they are and you are reading this thread, they look like this:

And they smell very strongly like this:

So am I the only one not cursed by them?

SUCKAZ!!!

HatchSurfer3 10-01-2008 10:35 AM

Ah! I was about to make a threat about this because its horrible at my house too. The other day I counted 13 in my room, i was so pissed I just left my house and drove around haha. Seriously though, there has to be something we can do because its like some cheesy horror movie and they're invading us.

rista 10-01-2008 10:40 AM

heh, my mom just emailed me, her & my dad just canceled there plans so that they cant take care of my room tonight while im in class from 6-10. they're gonna caulk any cracks around windows, and take my a/c unit out of the window (that may be one way they are getting in, not sure though)....ill love to have these things gone, i just feel bad that they cancelled their plans...
id love to be comfortable being in room though.

twastheglow 10-01-2008 10:42 AM

I've never even seen one of those before. LOL I guess I'm also not cursed by them.

ZeroCSS 10-01-2008 10:43 AM

I haven't really had a problem with these. And my patio faces a good amount of trees pretty close to it so I guess I'm lucky. But I hate the lil bastards too. Hate most bugs, except the furry catepillars. They're ok in my book.

Hando567 10-01-2008 10:51 AM

i get a **** ton of them at my house, hundreds of them hide in my garage and ****. a vaccuum takes care of them.

rista 10-01-2008 10:55 AM

yea, im cleaning my room right now....and i just vacummed 2...with the hand vacumme. which happens to be see-thru...still grossed out by them.

twastheglow 10-01-2008 11:02 AM

How big are these beasts?

poolmike 10-01-2008 11:02 AM

How come they are the only product from China that actually do what their name says??? Why couldn't they be defective and NOT stink.

Only if you promise to have him spread the word and make photocopies for other bugs.

DEAL! :-p

poolmike 10-01-2008 11:19 AM

They like to dwell in my fireplace chimney. When I light my woodstove for the first time of the season, they start dropping out all over the place.

I found that most spray oven cleaners kill bugs dead instantly. None of that candy a$$ bug spray that plays nervous system games taking them down in a liberal humane way...just spray and watch them fall. 100% kill rating.

Honduh 10-01-2008 11:26 AM

We get these around my house. Two winters ago my uncle had 3 in the house that he was feeding fruit and letting them chill in the front window of the house to stay warm. I don't think my aunt liked it much so I haven't seen him with any of his 'pets' recently.

TGilb2007 10-01-2008 11:35 AM

Never saw these around my way.... but we mostly just get mosiquitos near me.

JoeScooby 10-01-2008 11:56 AM

I had a couple in my house, smelled like cilantro when I squished them.. odd

garrettej8 10-01-2008 12:21 PM

I hate 'em

den9 10-01-2008 12:21 PM

proof that china sucks, they were first seen in allentown in 98, most likely a few of them were caught on some shipping crates and brought here. they are considered an agriculture pest. they are annoying because they just float around and land on you, they are nasty looking. my method is to spray them with with cleaner and watch them convulse to death, i have alot of kills under my belt. i think they should of stopped the problem before it got out of control.
