Shoebox gone Euro?!

One of my VW buddys just got these wheels, pretty much rebuilt them, new lips etc. Wheels look sick as hell, I think the fronts are 15X8 rear is 15X8.5, for ****s and giggles we swapped them on my Civic! Hmmmm I think some deep dish rims are in my future :o

kill him. and keep his wheels.

SovXietday 08-23-2008 02:39 PM

Fronts look great, I'm not a fan of how far the rears stick out. I say if you can get the rears to be flush with the quarter you're in for gold.

Yeah 8 1/2 is to big for a Honda, I will be looking for 15X8's all around and a lower stance.

I was about to drive off with them ;)

240sxDann 08-23-2008 03:08 PM

They look better on your car then his!

Sykopathik 08-23-2008 04:24 PM

More Jetta pics!

that jetta is sick and i think looks better than the civvy

StreetEG 08-23-2008 04:41 PM

those wheels make that civic.

james_ls 08-23-2008 04:46 PM

He should put the old wheels back on that Jetta. They look a bit nicer...

MAINLY becuase those BBS are PERFECT ON YOUR CAR!!

You shoulda drove off...and moved...

Gorilla Unit 33 08-23-2008 06:26 PM

i like the bbs wheels on the civic. although i would think a 195 tire would look a bit more stretched on a 8'' rim on the front.

05suby 08-23-2008 06:30 PM

take his wheels, they look a lot better on your car dude.

MuddyREX 08-23-2008 06:30 PM

Both cars are very clean. Thumbs up.

Sykopathik 08-23-2008 07:27 PM

yes staggard wheels are for rear wheel drive, but I think you need to understand why we staggard half an inch before you post. We do it to even out stance. The rear wheels sit in .5 of an inch compared to the front wheels and this will bring them out to the arch. :wiggle:

Half an inch...fine, but ive seen the **** done where its just plain rude, and these are the same guys that run around and call Honda owners ricers..i think they are hypocrites

Thats completly it.And, a lot of the mk1,2, and 3 owners pull this off amazingly. Both cars look dope though. That Civic needs those BBS wheels too, it makes the car complete.

one8turbo 08-24-2008 04:32 PM

they look good on your car, but youll never look as good as the dub (kidding)

Da InFaMMuS 1 08-24-2008 07:06 PM

wow i love your civic, esp with those wheels. And im usually not a fan of hatches.

peteyturbo 08-24-2008 07:19 PM

yay for stretched tires!!! It's soo cutting edge!!
BTW I love the wheels, love the civic, but both together =FAIL

peteyturbo 08-24-2008 07:20 PM

Well it is the most retarded thing to do as far as better cornering on a FWD car..But if it's just for a beauty pageant then whatever floats your boat.

So they are basically changing the correct geometry for a neutral setup to one that will understeer with the best of them..CONGRATS!

I dont race the car, Ive done that with many 16v rabbits and this is just a fun car. If you want to get in to detail, I can write a list of a few more things that make it handle worse than factory. thanks for the schooling though.

peteyturbo 08-24-2008 07:50 PM

Well like I said, if it's for a beauty pageant or waterfest or whatever... Even if you don't race the car you ar still doing detrimental mods in favor of "omg tire stretch i can has rwd look 2 4VW"..I'm sure the list of things like that go on and on but it's your car car so whatever floats your boat. I'm just voicing my opinion and given the location of the post, if I were you I'd expect criticizim far worse then me.

dont mind the criticizim and i figured it would get mixed reviews. As i said the car isnt a daily and I understand its not set up for racing.... as for the rwd comment, I explained it before and its only .5 of an inch to even it up with the front wheels.

CWBETB 08-24-2008 08:41 PM

Minus all the drama, I really do like the stretched look on VW's I think its clean, Its obviously not for "race purposes", but I think its a nice cosmetic mod personally

raceMpower95 08-25-2008 03:49 PM

BBS RS's look good on anything. Being a BMW guy, I still prefer them on E36's. That Civic looks pretty sick though with the euro look.

(Same car, two paintjobs.) One of my favorites though.

CHR!S 08-25-2008 04:47 PM

the jetta is hot

OBEEWON 08-25-2008 04:59 PM

I can't stress enough how much I like your civic.

I also cannot stress enough how much you need those wheels. Perfect fitment pending some camber and a few more inches of drop.

Make it so...

CWBETB 08-25-2008 05:02 PM

Thanks guys, working on 15X8's in my future.

Sick BMW's btw

I'm trying to decide which wheels I like better the panasports or the BBS. One of the local vw guys has the bbs on his primer mk2 golf and they look awesome, perfect contrast.

I have always wondered why the vw guys ran staggered wheels instead of putting on a set of spacers. They really don't sit in that much more in the rear.
