Anyone need CAD work? Custom parts?

Hello: I am recently unemployed, and i have lots of time on my hands for doing some work. Here is what i can do:

CNC programming of:
→Mill (5yrs exp)
→lathe (4yrs exp)
→wireEDM (2yrs exp)
→Plasma (4yrs exp)
→turret punch (4yrs exp)
→laser (4yrs exp)
and the little variates in between, like mill turns and multitasking machines... i know mazaks very well.

I have a lot of experience fixing these machines as well...

I am an EXPERT CAD user. I know Solidworks like the back of my hand. My previous job i designed everything they made, how everything went together, the works. I was designing the mechanicals of industrial (2-2000Kw) rectifiers. I am very familiar with power electronics, as i worked with them every day.

Programs i know:
Solidworks
COSMOSworks
AutoCAD
MasterCAM
VirtualGIBBS CAM

Got a custom part in mind? I can draw it up in CAD, and i have a buddy that will rapid prototype for CHEAP.

I have designed and made myself many parts... a small list:
STS for MS3
CF bracing for MS3 (used FEA software also, COSMOSworks...)
twin alternator bracket, for this guy that liked putting crazy radio equipment into his truck...
license plate relocation brackets for motorcycles
brake rotors for motorcycles
tons of stuff, i can't remember it all...

I have lots of experience designing stuff out of sheetmetal, and making it too.
I have 4 years MIG experience, and 1 year TIG (still a noob at TIG)

So let me know... i can design your custom parts, and if need be, i can make them too. I am really looking to see if some company wants to pick me up for contract work. However, i will do other work on the side.

PM me, and i will send resume.

Thanks!

If I sent you a cad file woud you be able to get the part made for me?

BradC 02-07-2008 03:37 PM

Hey, I might have some stuff for my car I could use help with.

On a side note though, how long-term of side work are you looking for?

We outsource almost everything here at my job, and could use another mechanical design guy. Things like drawing up dimensional datasheets, making a drawing and 3d drawing for sample production, etc, etc..

no problem man! working on cars is my love, "mi vicio"... shoot me a PM about what your trying to do!

and to answer your question, i wouldn't mind if the stuff was long term. i am saying contract work because i am going to school to get some cert papers, so whoever i work with has to be able to flex around that. but it sounds like i would be a shoe-in at your place of work. i am very familiar with what your are talking about, and i have a big e-portfolio of my previous work showing what i can do.

i think you can get templates or something off hondaswap or somewhere like that... find it, show it to me, and i'll see what i can do... are the b series tranny's that good?

BradC 02-08-2008 10:12 AM

You've got mail.

MS34ME! 02-08-2008 09:01 PM

Thank you Brad, i will be responding shortly...

empera 02-09-2008 09:32 PM

so you have access to a CNC machine? i might need something done soon, will be designing it in autocad soon.

I will see if i can get the template.

I can explain it this way... My h22 swap should run like high 13's stock. But with the Gsr trans it will run like low to mid 12's... So yea, its pretty bad ass.
But also i look at it this way. The B series trans rev alot higher then my H22 trans that i guess it should last alot longer on the track cause i shift at 7500 and not 9000. I would think the synchros would last alot longer.

If youre going through all of that trouble... dont put a GSR tranny in there. Open diff, mediocre gearing... Get an ITR trans. Youll be glad you did in the end.

Keeper1343 02-09-2008 10:13 PM

without a doubt i would like that better. But thats costs alot more ya know. People try to rape you because its a Type R trans

Not really. GSR trans $500. ITR trans goes for like $1000. The LSD sells by itself for $350. Its just a more expensive (albeit accurately priced) transmission. If youre putting the tranny in to lower 1/4 times... and B trans wont do jack for you if its still an open diff.

Sorry to the OP for jackin, but hey... free bumps!

Keeper1343 02-09-2008 10:56 PM

if anyone knows where to find the template for the H2B plate let me know

gray1g 02-10-2008 11:05 PM

?

I need the hub of a rim bored out a few mm. on a 19 inch rim. Are you able to do this?

TROLL 02-12-2008 12:17 AM

MS34ME!... looks like you've got some interest here which is great but as is stated in the sticky at the top of this forum, this is not to profit off of. If you want to help others out then great, but this forum is only for non-profit exchanges. If you want to sign on as a vendor maybe you can turn that into something worthwhile but you can't charge people here for anything more than your actual cost which obviously should be low.
This forum is all about helping each other out, which is what a community does...

MS34ME! 02-12-2008 12:25 PM

damn i totally messed up... is there a way to re-word this to keep it here? i'm just looking for a job lol...

TROLL 02-12-2008 12:46 PM

yeah no problem, you can edit any of your posts by scrolling up and clicking the 'edit' button underneath the specific post (it only shows up for your own posts since those are the only ones you can edit).
you can edit the title by clicking 'go advanced' after you click 'edit'.

MS34ME! 02-12-2008 07:46 PM

alright, i will edit tonight. sorry again for being an idiot and not reading the rules!

Thought this might help.

MS34ME! 02-18-2008 02:08 AM

wow! i have not worked on VW's much... but that seems like an awesome place that i would love to work for! i looked at their employment page tho, and i dunno if they would take me... i have the vast majority of the skills required, but lack this piece of paper...

DropTopChevy 02-18-2008 12:32 PM

Figured I would try to help you out. I was looking at their employment cause I would love to work there. If you have seen the place it is a real nice looking place inside.
Besides the missing piece of paper it doesn't hurt to try. I mean they are looking for someone and they have been for a little while. Like everyone always says "What's the worst that coul happen? They say no."

Keeper1343 02-18-2008 12:40 PM

Look in the networking section

Any word on this?

MS34ME! 02-20-2008 12:45 AM

i would not be able to do that myself, as i do not have the required machinery. I'd try calling local machine shops or wheel shops.

empera 02-20-2008 01:02 AM

i hope u didnt forget about me.
