Sled 12-20-2007 12:17 AM

here it is

justinlansdale 12-20-2007 12:20 AM

If you have the $$$$, go for it. Be prepared to spend it on fuel and tires.

If you are just using a truck to drive to work and the occasional Home Depot run, buy a Toyota Tundra. A good solid, effecient truck with lots of aftermarket support.

If you need something heavier, for pulling a trailer, yet remain effiecient around town....get a Dodge with a Cummins and New Venture trans.

Chebbie's are pricey, and provide the sissy-boy IFS ride. They also provide the Duramax/Alison combo. Untouchable powertrain.

Ford=Junk, regardless of make or model. If you buy one, you are just as retarded as I was when I bought mine.

Cool. If I was looking for a 1/2 ton, I'd roll with a Tundra. It is the best 1/2 ton out there. Hardly any emissions compared to everything else. The I-Force is a strong motor. Massive brakes. Great truck.

streetAssasin96 12-20-2007 12:48 PM

don't get a dodge unless its a diesel, because otherwise they're garbage

Sled 12-20-2007 01:17 PM

its a Donahoe racing 9 inch lift. Im told their not a true 9 inch lift as you can see.
as for the person that says Fords are junk, this is not true. the 7.3s are great and the 6.0s are hit or miss. I work in a shop that works on diesels all day long. they all have there fair share of problems. diesels are also a lot more money to up keep. they normal have alittle better gas mileage, but the fuel cost more too. if you're looking at diesels i would be looking for an clean older 7.3 powerstroke or a Dodge. the Dodge gets the best MPG hands down and it being a straight 6, it has less moving parts. less moving parts, means less stuff can break. you know what i mean.

less moving parts, but the parts are way beefier

only if they had a ford f250 with a allison transmission and a cummins engine

WhiteFiveO 12-20-2007 10:54 PM

Ford trucks garbage??? I agree 100% with sled, ford 7.3 is the best diesel engine ford ever made as for dodges, cummins is also a great engine the rest of the truck is sh%t everything interior wise breaks and there great trannys they have will leave you stranded on the side of the road with a blown trans as soon as you try to tow anything. Chevys have a great powerplant but i dont care for the looks at all. So i dont see how ford diesels are garbage? also what kind of truck do you have??

poolmike 12-20-2007 11:48 PM

I had a '03 Super Duty. It leaked coolant the first day I had it, and it was all downhill from that point on. Piece of sheetz.

My truck will most likely have its comback tour in '08 for it's 40th Birthday. Detroit Diesel with a 5 speed New Venture trans. 14 bolt full floater rear/Dana 70 front axles, NP205 divorce mount transfer case. Jeep trucks only! No Big Three tonka toys for me. 38" tires with no lift.

For sale sign in the pic. I got excited. I was already counting money.

JNZTuning 12-20-2007 11:59 PM

Sold the Dodge but still have the Jeep...

2 door Pioneer! Nice Jeep.

JNZTuning 12-21-2007 12:17 AM

Thanks! ...I really need to get off my ass and finish it up. Need to reseal the windshield, fix the front axle disconnect (or swap it), swap the steering column, and fix the ac/heater fan. Ugh. :)

nissan4life 12-21-2007 12:18 AM

nice pics... might get an 87 suburban and lift it for a daily plus i'm getting it from a gm employee for free

My '95 is the same way...needs a heater core, desperately needed alignment, way overdue on fluid changes....Every time I get motivated to maintain it, I usually end up taking it out to some trails to beat the crap out of it instead.

CleanNeon98 12-21-2007 12:39 AM

poolmike has probbably the coolest truck on tst

Ahh, a totally different truck. The 300cid 6cyl. has been around since the early 60s. Great engine. You won't be able to kill that one.

couldn't have put it better myself. The only thing bad about Fords is the new 6.0l diesel. I mean they are alright now, but when they first came out they were trash. My dad got an 03 and had 4 engines replaced and he only has 70,xxx on the clock. Plus, you Ive seen people putting turbo timers on their 6's. You can tow for hours, go mudding, completely beat the shlt out of a 7.3l and then just shut it off and call it a day, and it takes it like a champ.

As for dodges, I hate dodge trucks they're garbage. However, the cummins inine 6 is a freak engine. My friends got a inline 6 w/ bigger turbo, injectors and intercooler, adn he runs like low 13's ina 7500lb truck. I mean stock 6's basically stay neck and neck with my GSR. But, if I had the choice Id take take a Ford.

Bill, I sold that POS Summer '06 and I'm still feeling the effects of the anal raping I took on it. I'm gonna stop bitching about it now. OK maybe not. It's making me sick all over again. F'n Stupid Duty. Damn truck couldn't haul a bag of groceries without shearing a ball joint or blowing a head gasket. It was a good looking truck, I always kept it spotless, so it would look good while in tow or at the dealer service facility.

streetAssasin96 12-21-2007 02:47 PM

haha. thats ashame you got a lemon. ill agree with you though '03 was not the year to buy ford trucks.

WhiteFiveO 12-23-2007 01:54 AM

03s were hit or miss with the 6.0 it was a completely new engine so those kind of problems are likely to happen when something new comes out just like every other car around. I have a 96 f250 with a 7.3 and i love it never gives me any problems

poolmike 12-23-2007 08:46 AM

Mine was a gasser. 5.4 Liter. I wanted to set the truck on fire and push it off a high cliff. The Power Joke diesels are actually International Harvester engines, that is the only reason that they actually run.

poolmike 12-23-2007 09:00 AM

Real trucks here. I will own a Unimog some day.
