yikes thats ugly.... :(

Ender81 09-05-2007 02:13 PM

I like the touch, and the stuff with the wifi in it and the crap with Starbucks is pretty cool too.

jb1830 09-05-2007 02:15 PM

Yea...the touch one is pretty cool...I also read that the iPhone just dropped $100 at the stores.

Kiel 09-05-2007 02:16 PM

All this makes me keep loving my 1st gen Nano even more.

jspek 09-05-2007 02:21 PM

im sorry but what do i need 160 gigs for? thats just pointless. it would take too much time to find the song you wanted lol.

not really i mean most of the time mines on random anyways

jb1830 09-05-2007 02:28 PM

Yea...it is a lot of space...but I also use my 30gb as a hard drive...imagine all the junk I can carry around with that!

It just dropped $200 for the 8GB, sucks to be someone who bought early.

Cardriverx 09-05-2007 03:45 PM

ipod classic!? They are like 6 years old, and all look the same... its just the usual apple crap.

Well they're all metal now or something. They also have a new user interface and 160GB of storage. But yeah pretty much just the same. On the bright side, unlike a lot of companies that just do a face lift, they didn't raise the price at all.

Kiel 09-05-2007 04:38 PM

Actually I just hope they revise the iPod interface altogether, I like it but there are a few things that'd be nice if they updated. Probably none of till will trickle down to the 1g Nano though.

About 1-1.5 years ago when there were rumors of a widescreen, touch screen Ipod I promised myself that I would buy one when it came out. Now that it's finally here two things are holding me back.

1. 8-16GB of storage is not nearly enough. They need to have at least 60-80GB.
2. I just got Sirius about 2 months ago...and I haven't touched my MP3 player since.

The wifi web browsing looks really cool, but I'll probably hold off until Apple upgrades them in 6-12 months.

ozthunder 09-05-2007 05:14 PM

If that Ipod touch had more gigs..itd be appealing.

I also hate/love that apple absolutely pwns its customer base every 10 months or so.

jb1830 09-05-2007 05:44 PM

^^^ Haha, yea. Yet everyone keeps buying their stuff...why?! At this point id rather go for the iPhone rather than the iPod Touch. Not like I'm getting one either way.

Ender81 09-05-2007 05:52 PM

Yeah I agree on the storage for the touch. However I don't want the Iphone, I am too happy with my blackjack to want something else.

a lot of people buy an ipod for mass storage + music. a friend of mine stores his finished photography and video files for school work on his 80GB so he doesn't take up room on his computer's small-ish internal drive (he uses a large external HD for the raw uncompressed files). plus then he can take it with him to show people when they'd like to see a sample of his work.

as far as music goes, mine stays on random most of the time too.

K-Rex 09-05-2007 08:34 PM

Sweet I wanted an iPhone with out the phone! iPod Touch Christmas present ahoy. Also 8gig iPhone down to $399 4 gig to be discontinued but $299 until supplies run out. I guess realized that 4 gig is weak sauce and I suspect more memory in the future of iPhone.

Two words - Price Protection. I bought mine with my AmEx and will be getting a $200 kickback.

More information on THAT please!!

Ender81 09-06-2007 07:49 AM

A guy I work with bought an 80GB last week, called yesterday and they are replacing it with a 160GB at no cost. Pretty stand up of them really.

bastid 09-06-2007 08:10 AM

Not sure of all the details, but if MSRP drops on an item within 90 days of purchase, you can take benefit of the new MSRP. I'm actually kind of pissed about it. $200 is a small price to pay compared against what would happen to Apple's revenue and subsequently it's stock price. I could lose a lot more than that if people exercise price protection. Doubt it will happen though.

jb1830 09-06-2007 08:47 AM

It seems as though anyone who bought they're iPhones up to 14-days ago (allowed time to return it) is elegible for the $200 price drop...so if you bought one less than 2 weeks ago I'd be on my way to an Apple store to get my money back.
