Sorry to hear about your loss. Between my wife's engagement ring, her two wedding rings (one for work...working in a chemistry lab FTL), and my wedding ring totaled $1,200. She didn't even want a diamond originally either and hates jewelry. I love my wife. :mrgreen:

how big is that, hard to scale it really from the photo, but i gotta say it looks massive for a diamond. not sure really how much they cost but even for $10k it seems really big.
if the 3 month salary thing is true then i'm sure there are plenty of ballers out there getting $10k engagement rings, but this one still looks... bigger.

I spent less than half of 10K on her ring. I get complements all the time from all of her friends over the ring I got her.

I would pay $10k for a ring if that's what the girlfriend wanted. Luckily, she found a "commercial" ring (as in it's a generic store made ring, hundreds/thousands floating around) that's under $2000. I've spent less on watches for her, not a bad deal!

And BTW, the DIAMOND INDUSTRY started the 3 months salary general rule of thumb theory, just as they completely control the supply of diamonds (there are MILLIONS of diamonds left in storages across the world).

Quality, not quantity. In all reality, $10k for a GOOD diamond does NOT buy you a huge ring. For example, a 2-3 carat stone in the $10k range buys you a decent sized diamond with a couple of flaws. In the real world, a NICE $10k diamond would only be 1-1.5 carats. Well under 2. A flawless $10k diamond would be 1 carat or less.

Size doesn't always matter. :lol:
