11.47 for 7am-3pm 12.47 for 3pm-11pm and 13.47 for 11pm-7am

i'm a full time materials distribution tech and a part time EMT. as a material distribution tech I do jack ****, I sit at a desk and go online ( hense why i post so much ) or i read magazines and watch dvds. if i'm tired i put a couple chairs together and take a nap or just roll out a cot and sleep if i have someone covering the shift with me. basically all we do is every couple hours a nurses desk will call and be like "hey we're out of nss and telfa at 3a" so i grab a case of saline and telfa and page someone to run it up to the nurses

on sunday monday tue wen and thur we take orders, so one of us runs up to the nurses stations to see what the need and some guy named ed orders it for them






m-f i do about 2 hours of "real" work, saturday i don't do **** ( not a single call yesterday, 12 hour shift ) and sunday ( today ) so far i've had one call

thats a hard life you got going Kid.

oh yeah and i forgot the best part, i have a pager so that i can leave. it's half an hour drive to my house so when i work at taylor i stay here, but when i'm at delaware county hospital i just go home and watch tv and ****, cause it's around the corner from my house. we're allowed to leave with the pager so we frequently go get grocery shopping or whatever done, or just drive to the store to wander around and kill time. i've actually gone outside to wrench on my car for hours at a time in the employee parking lot

heh, this job is a blessing man. i was a CNA for a long time and that's some HARD work for CRAPPY pay. it's a great feeling to help people, but it's really hard to help some people knowing how bad they feel that they can't do stuff for themselves.. :[

yeah man, it's a pretty sweet deal

now, every so often we get **** on and have a crazy workload, but that's like once a month. ( if someone doesn't get an order in, or they mess the order up you will have EVERY nurses station calling for stuff all day, sometimes we have to drive the van to another hospital to pick stuff up if the courier is busy )

Sign me up. Lol

oh i know man, don't get me wrong :] this job is cake, i was just saying that i felt blessed to get it after my past jobs. i don't know if you know what a CNA does but not a lot of people can handle it, it's pretty hard to have like 10-12 geriatrics relying on you 100% for everything ( dressing, bathing, toiletting, feeding )

i think at the moment we're completly full, do you have a general knowledge of healthcare and stuff? it's not really required, but it helps a LOT cause if you get calls like "i need 50 18gauge safetys, box of 2x4 telfa, 4 dic trach tubes, 14 french catheders, and some d5 and 1/2 with 40k" you can spend litterally hours walking around trying to find stuff. I applied for the job like 6 months before i got it, no joke. they wanted me to finish part of my school before i could be hired, and i was only hired after showing a pretty serious knowledge of medical terminology

I could have slapped this bitch in ICU, flipped over stands in the store room for you because i couldnt find anything that these mother ****ers wanted without spending 40+ minutes or more looking for it in there. god i hate some of them mother ****ers. anyway i take it joes the one sleeping ? lol

me and three other guys i work with finished our jobs early on friday (we work for california closets) and didn't feel like going back to the shop at noon, so we went to grand slam out on 30 right near the friendly's at the corner of bus. 30 and rt.29. we hit up the batting cages and arcade for 2 1/2 hours before going back the shop. My chest is still sore, its been a while since i swung a baseball bat

yeah emt-b, i'm also a cna with a couple years experience in hospitals and nursing homes. pa turned down my resiprocity on my emt license for some reason, so i had to re-cert here

we don't have any open spots right now, and from what i understand you have to be working for CK to even get a spot cause everyone wants to move to our dept

There is no store room guys on after 8 i believe. I do that job along with Transport, House, X-ray tech, and Runner when i work 11p-7a. Which sucks because like this weekend you wont have 5 minutes to sit down until 645 am.

Two weeks ago they had to close the ER cause they couldnt admit anyone. i think yesterday when we left it was 108 or sumtin. It could be worse right now lol

yeah man it's usually not so bad later in the night, but prime time afternoon the ER is on divert a LOT. i'll go back and every room will be full and the waiting room will be packed lol
