Jeep/4x4 folks- Paragon trip

I'm going to Paragon Park in Hazelton on Jan.28 with a few other friends. We are only hitting the light duty trails. If anyone wants to join in and get their 4x4 dirty, let me know and I'll send you information.

I'm going to beat the bag out my new acquired $845 Cherokee:supz:

TROLL 01-05-2007 01:50 AM

no really, can i go? i'll take photo / video and provide interesting conversation :)

poolmike 01-05-2007 01:53 AM

I forgot to ask you earlier...but yes you can bounce around in the passenger seat. Bring a snorkel!

S4toSTI 01-05-2007 01:54 AM

Anything but bitch. I wanna go too. Oh and i checked its a sunday soooooooo in.

poolmike 01-05-2007 02:01 AM

I don't have a rear seat B-.

I have to install at least two recovery points, my 3" lift, new Toyo mud terrains, and anything else they ask for.

S4toSTI 01-05-2007 02:02 AM

Well that stinks lol.

italianblaze 01-05-2007 11:26 AM

hummerman88 01-05-2007 06:30 PM

ToyotaTat 01-05-2007 07:27 PM

Check their website, I know quads are allowed.

The group of 4x4's consists of mainly stock height Jeeps and restored International Scouts. They aren't looking to destroy their vehicles. However, I plan on submerging the Cherokee.

Just get a school bus, most school buses have better turning radius' and approach/departure angles than Super Duty's

2drStunner 01-05-2007 11:36 PM

yea but somethings gotta pull out thoose lil trucks of yours! But no problem just asking!

ToyotaTat 01-05-2007 11:37 PM

i know as a fact quads are allowed...but i don't want to be there w/ my quad(s) when everyone is doing the truck only trails (certain trails are trucks only, some atv only, some are for any vehicle.
4drstunner: humvees go there quite often

We'll be there to pull YOU out!

2drStunner 01-05-2007 11:42 PM

your 875 jeep is going to pull out a superduty! :bigeek: Wouldnt mind watching that!

poolmike 01-05-2007 11:50 PM

$845! get it right! I's jokin' anyway. I wouldn't bring something that large if you don't want scratches. You kind of have to expect body damage. In my case, I'm going to make sure there is body damage.

i'll ask my friend about this, he's got a yj spung over axle w/ 2" lift springs, 9" rear w/ 4:56's, front and rear arb lockers, high steer, 37" tires, the whole deal that thing is no joke, plus it helps that he works at quadratec

He probably already knows. I think a few of the Quadratec guys will be there.

ToyotaTat 01-07-2007 12:33 AM

so is anyone w/ atv's going to go?

88TSI_Rob 01-07-2007 01:44 PM

Man this is tempting...I just got a Dodge Raider that I'd like to take out. However it's my daily driver at the moment and it's in really nice condition, if I bang it up or break something I'm going to be pissed.

If the trails are mostly dirt/mud I'd be willing to go, but if you guys are going to be crawling over large rocks I'll pass.

poolmike 01-07-2007 09:38 PM

Light duty stuff my friend. I don't feel like towing my semi-daily driver home either. I would expect some type of scratches and crap.

92dxman 01-07-2007 10:29 PM

Does anyone have a spare seat open for this trip? I went with a friend of mine and his Land Cruiser club back in August and that was pretty fun.

hummerman88 01-09-2007 07:55 PM

So where would the meeting spot for this extravaganza be? and an approx time?

poolmike 01-22-2007 11:18 AM

Bumpin' this one up. This Sunday should be a good time. I think we have a group of 7 trail rigs going. Mostly International Scouts except for my Cherokee and Hummerman's Rubicon. Anyone is welcome to show up, we will be at the park before it opens to get checked in. If interested, PM me for details.

Here is a link to Paragon's site.

And here is the not so good link.....
http://www.paragonap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11673

Paragon is SCREWED. 3 years into their 25 year lease....The land is being sold for roughly 30 million to a mining company, which is sort of a good thing for alternative fuel, but really bad for local 4 wheelin'

BobErT- 01-23-2007 01:35 PM

Then maybe i am in to beat my $600 dollar jeep :) Im not going to kill it because its my daily driver so i dont have to drive my car!!!! Ya quads are aloud, i was there on my quad before, im telling you though dont let those trails fool you they say they are easy but they are ****ING HARD!!! What time use leaving to go??

TROLL 01-26-2007 03:08 AM

how late is this running on sunday? mike i still want to go with you, but i cant unless we can be back in the area by 6pm cause i've got to go to work :(. if thats not gonna happen, i understand... no worries. let me know what the agenda is...

poolmike 01-26-2007 08:51 AM

Troll, I don't think we can be back by 6pm. The park closes at 4pm and the group has to stay together. I plan on staying until closing or until the Cherokee is dead, which ever comes first.

The next trip is in the works for sometime in March. Possibly to Rausch Creek instead of Paragon.

TROLL 01-27-2007 11:32 AM

ok, we'll try for next time.

I just got done watching some sweet off roading, probably a bit more intense than you'll be doing... on a show called Truck Stop on ESPN2. Hot host with big boobs and a short skirt too... I liiiike. The thing was at such an angle at one point it lifted the RR wheel and the hot host and I both thought they were going over. Off roading is cool.

poolmike 01-29-2007 08:53 AM

It was a great time. Hummerman was not able to make it, he was called to Willow Grove AFB at the last minute for an unknown mission. That left me as the only Jeep in our group. The other 5 vehicles were International Scouts with owners that feared body and mechanical damage.....BORING. I, however, used my "when in doubt, stand on the stupid pedal" approach. I had the Cherokee in some deep water holes and I know the tranmission and transfer case are filled with water. One of the Scouts got its front wheels jammed between some rocks and bent the steering tie rod into a boomerang shape. Some creative trail engineering got it back into shape.

I will post some pics in the gallery later today.
