- Your image must be a maximum of 900 pixels (height or width), or a minimum of 500 pixels (height or width).
- Your image must be emailed to me tehchaz@gmail.com on or before midnight 12/31.
- Your submission email should have the title of the image.
- Also, when you email your submission, make sure you include your tst name and your entry's title.
- Only one submission per user
- Your image must NOT contain any borders or signatures or anything to distinguish the photo as your own
- Photoshop is ok to use.
- Please with you email send the name of the camera used also.
- DO NOT POST THESE PICTURES on the forum. See below.
- On Jan. 1st I will take all the submissions and post them in a voting poll. Members will then be given the chance to vote. After the winner is chosen, the photographers will be named for what pics.

so there isnt any favoritism when voting starts.

but this is photos you take yourself right, so wont everyone know who is taking them by who the poster is?

You email them to him, don't post them, so no one knows whose is whose. I think it's a good idea, and we shouldn't hint as to which one is ours :)

alrighty then, start brainstorming!

Chaz...I suggest everyone post the type of camera they use and that way when you pull the EXIF data from the image...it makes it harder to counterfeit...We all know that I shoot with a D50...so I'll be the first.

Are these images to be kept 100% true or can Photoshop be used to manipulate them at all?

P.S.- Are you not joining in the contest since they are being sent to you?

I with vwcorradokid about posting the camera used. I'm pretty sure we're free to use as much photoshop as we want, right? I don't see why not, as that's a HUGE part of digital photography. That gives me a little step behind lots of people as I'm not that great with photoshop, but I still think it should be allowed.

Plus, without PS we could just shoot raw and change things in post-processing, which gives people with the ability to shoot raw an advantage over people who can't. You can't beat good composition and lighting, and photoshop should just be used to as a compliment.

added the camera used in the first post. and jess it can be anything that is festive, doesnt have to be car related. and yes photoshop is fine unless you really start to alter the photo where it looks fake haha. and no im not participating in this contest since i am running it. ill find someone to pass it on to next month.

I'll alternate months with you if you want.

I think there should be a thread with pics that AREN'T getting sent in, to kind of motivate or inspire people. If you shoot a bunch, email Chaz the one you want to submit, but post the rest. This way others can see different ideas.

na, then people will know the 'theme' of your photos and when your actual submission is posted it will be easy to pick out. i say we just work on our own here and when its time to post the single submission its time...

I totally agree with you. I'm sure a few people's photos will stick out as their own because a few people have posted enough pictures that everyone knows their general style of shooting as well as how they lay the photo out in photoshop with a frame, etc... I'm gonna make a point not to do my usual black border. LOL.

It says in the first posts you can't use any borders.

ok bump cause i havent even thought of what i'm going to do and i probably should... i like this photo contest thing, its cool and gives me an excuse to get my camera in my hand and think a little :)

I have a couple ideas, but both of them require a decent drive.

That and my car looks like crap winterized with my stock wheels, and the nice new dent in my hood thanks to the windy day we had last week and dead branches. I love how my car is so accident prone.

Oh well, anyways we'll see what I can come up with. A nice spot and a little post processing and I should be ok.

Does the photo have to be car oriented? Can it simply be something else?

Well If it is a picture of your own car it is pretty obvious who took the pic, therefor illiminating the purpose of having no signatures.

But it is a good question. However I think most peoples pics won't be car related or if they are atleast not their own car. Correct me if I am wrong chaz.

so we cant put our name on it....but we can put our TST name on it...doesnt that kinda lose some of the point of no Favorism

dont put any names on the picture itself, when sending the pic to jspek put ur tst name with it, but again not on the actual pic, so he knows who it is when he starts the poll to vote. no names will be with the pics so there will be no favoritism

I'm working on editing some of mine. Not all too thrilled with any of them but I'll submit for fun anyway.

If it makes all of you feel better. I have an idea of what I want to shoot, but haven't been able to set it up yet. I'm hopefully going to be able to do it Friday after work and edit it on Saturday...so I'll be just in time.

Chaz, I'll take over the duties for January so that you can show us your skills. The theme for January will be posted in a new thread so that we can have 1 thread per month of the contest...since the poll will need to change on a monthly basis. I plan on having the thread up by the end of the week.

Mods, is there a way that we can get a sub-category under the photography forum for the monthly contests? That would help out a LOT.
