Tuesday Meet at Applebee's on Cedar Crest Blvd in Allentown 9pm

Well, I wanna start a new meeting spot in Bethlehem.

I was thinking about the new Sheetz on Schonersville Rd.

*Edit-

Well, its official. This is now an official TST weekly meet!! Ashley has marked this on the TST calender as well.

If you would like to join us, show up at Sheetz in Bethlehem between 8:30- 9:00 PM and stay as long as you like!

I just ask that nothing stupid is done, ie. racing, burnouts, donuts, etc.

Here is the address just in case anybody needs to get directions:

Sheetz Incorporated
3225 Schoenersville Rd
Bethlehem, PA 18017

Cross Street:
Near intersection of Stoke Park Rd and Schoenersville Rd

One last thing- I noticed that there is a confusion as to where in the parking lot we are officially meeting at- I say this because whenever I showed up, people were just randomly parked all over the place. To solve this, I suggest that we meet at the end of the building- opposite the gas pumps. If your one of the first people there, just back your car into the spot so you are easier to recongize.

Thanks guys!

gary 05-25-2006 10:42 PM

I'd be up for it as long as it is on one of the nights/days I am off... let me know.

Ender81 05-25-2006 11:23 PM

I might be down, don't know if I'm really digging the idea of meeting at a gas station, but I'm not familiar enough with Bethlehem to make any suggestions. When were you hoping to have it?

Bobert540 05-26-2006 08:21 AM

I am up for a meet...just gotta fig. out a time and place.

~Brian~ 05-26-2006 11:07 AM

Well, this would be my first time organizing a meet, so you gotta bear with me.

I had picked the Sheetz because they are open 24 hours for starters, they make freakin awesome food and they have a pretty nice setup outside for people to hang out in- tables w/ umbrellas & chairs, etc.
Plus it is a nice big parking lot- at least 30-40 cars. (and the road it is located on is good for some quick light to light runs- but hopefully people won't be that stupid because the Colonial Regional cops have been cracking down around the Lehigh Valley lately. Nothing major- you just dont want to do anything stupid, ie burnouts, crazy racing etc.)

I suppose I need to run it by the management of this place before we all just show up. I would like to keep this smaller if possible- like less than 40 cars- at least for the first few meets.

Any ideas for another possible location?

272sWrx 05-26-2006 12:26 PM

date and time? Maybe i can make the trip up.

~Brian~ 05-26-2006 12:41 PM

Well, if there are no other suggestions for a location, I was thinking we could make the first meet on Wed, June 14. Probably at 9:00 PM till whenever. If that is too late, we can move it to 8:00 PM.

Do you think I should run all this by the management of Sheetz first before we roll up with lots of cars?

gary 05-26-2006 04:08 PM

That sucks I work ever Wed night.... ohh well have fun =(

~Brian~ 05-26-2006 04:11 PM

Dosen't have to be Wed. That was just the first thing that came to my mind. I really don't care which night it is.

Why don't we make on Thursday, June 15 then.

gary 05-26-2006 06:52 PM

How about a Mon or Tues? I hate my work schedule...

bastid 05-26-2006 07:46 PM

I would talk to the management of Sheetz. Last thing you want to do is put time and effort into organizing something only to be shot down by a call to the 5-0 for whatever reason. Also, it'd probably help if all in attendance kept the food/drinks flowing so you aren't taking up any of their "revenue generating space."

~Brian~ 05-30-2006 11:03 AM

Thats what I was thinking too. I will run it by them tonight.

How many cars do you think we will have? I just wanted to give them an idea. Maybe 20?

cali7304 05-30-2006 12:39 PM

they're just goin to laugh at you and tell you to find another spot. they're gettin kinda *** up there now just like the one on 145. they usually let us hang out there for about 30-45min. before we get the boot. IMO i wouldn't even ask.

~Brian~ 05-30-2006 12:53 PM

That my be, but I still think it is a good idea to at least run it by them first. If we need to find another spot, then so be it.

sidewayzdazes13 05-30-2006 02:01 PM

sundays or mondays and i could get a few cars to roll up with ...yea theyre ususally alright up the other one for an hr or so

~Brian~ 05-30-2006 02:35 PM

Yeah, that would be pretty cool. I had picked Sheetz cause there normally cars hanging out there at night anyway, so I figured they were used to it by now.

I was hoping to keep it smaller, at least for the first meet or two.

cali7304 05-30-2006 03:33 PM

the crowd i hang out w/are up there pretty much everynight. we go in get something to eat or drink chill outside for a little and then they'll jsut tell u to leave. i mean when i'm up there there's probably about a dozen cars and they hate that.

~Brian~ 05-30-2006 03:43 PM

Do you mean the one on 145? I hear ya on that. That retarded dude is always kicking us out. Or trying to anyway. haha

cali7304 05-30-2006 03:48 PM

i'm talkin about the new one on schonersville rd. we all gave up on the 145 sheetz...i know of the guy you're talkin about he always tells ppl to leave. apparently someone clocked him on sat. nite..haha.

~Brian~ 05-30-2006 04:38 PM

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!! Good for him!

Hmm, I haven't heard anything that about the new one yet. I have a pretty good idea what will happen when I ask about the meet.

TehWagon 05-30-2006 05:58 PM

+1 for running it by the management- as long as you are well behaved and bring them business, its a win-win.

please post this in upcoming events when it comes to fruition, and i will get it on the calendar!

~Brian~ 05-30-2006 06:02 PM

I thought about putting it in upcoming events, but I wanted to keep the first meet or two on the small side- at least until the management is comfortable with us.

TehWagon 05-30-2006 06:05 PM

gotchya :)

bastid 05-30-2006 06:44 PM

When/if you post this as being a reoccuring meet, make sure you set a zero tolerance policy for BS. As long as you stick to it, you should be able to have reasonably sized meets without too much hassle. Remember that when you speak to the Sheetz manager that they are the ones who need to benefit from this. IE - ask them when their slowest night is during the week typically and tell them you'll keep the lot filled with paying customers.

TehWagon 05-30-2006 06:49 PM

12345 - good advice!

Honest_Bob 05-30-2006 08:12 PM

I'd love a meet in bethlehem! The quakertown one went to hell.

cali7304 05-31-2006 09:07 AM

IDK why you guys find this so hard to comprehend. go ahead and ask management, i can guarantee what the outcome of this will be. NO :supz:

Gotcha. I was gonna try that.

Hopefully I won't get shut down by management.

~Brian~ 05-31-2006 11:21 AM

Nah, probably wouldn't be a good idea, seeing as how I am there a couple times a week.

cali7304 05-31-2006 11:59 AM

I am actually working on something right now to have atleast monthly meets in the Allentown area. I am working with an unnamed business with quite a large parking lot and food available in the immediate parking lot. I am still working with Whitehall police department also. I hope to have all of the details worked out by the end of next week... I'll post soemthing as soon as all of the details are worked out. =) Didn't want to say anything before it was complete but it seems that everyone is giving you quite a hard time about this... maybe this is why nothing is organized here?

~Brian~ 05-31-2006 01:13 PM

Either way I am fine. I just wanted to start a meet in the local area because I am tired of always having to drive for like an hour to go to a meet. haha

TehWagon 05-31-2006 01:48 PM

i say its still worth a shot, brian.

We do have the monthly Red Robbin meet organized by Kevin. These are on Sunday afternoons. A mid week evening/night meet would be cool. You probably won't get much support from somewhere like a gas station, where there is a lot of ingress/egress. Something along the lines of the meet at the Steak shop in Neshaminy is an awesome idea. It should be easily accessable from a major highway, have an owner that wants us there, and be policed by specific attendees to ensure that the BS is kept in check.
