i think the site started to die out when the sonic/spring meet stopped happening. people lost interest in TST. Many other forums I'm a part of are still going strong.

I get on every now and then to maintain my Member Journal since its probably the most comprehensive timeline of how I built the car. The forum is mostly dead though

My work blocks social media sites but not forums, thats why I post on here and NASIOC.

I still like forums and check in here every so often. I feel like facebook groups are generally full of stupid conversations/pics and not good ol' car talk.

Also Instagram killed the car scene. Now everyone is a ****.

I miss coming on and seeing everyone hate on CleanNeon... don't even know the guy haha.

I hate facebook groups. There's no organization. If it's a busy page, posts get lost all the time if people don't respond immidately. Forget selling on them.

Ugh. Seems like most forums I'm on are "dying" but the local forums were hit way worse by facebook than specific owner groups. I pretty much come here to trawl through member's journals and update mine.

I stop in once or twice a week to see if there's any cars for sale that might catch my interest. Just noticed I was member #405...I don't think I see anyone post earlier than the 2000s these days.

Or even an OT thread about what's going on in the world - I'm surprised there isn't at least a 2016 election thread. That'd be interesting I'm sure, lol.
Either way, if the ball started rolling it would be easier to keep it rolling.

I've been checking here more often recently, but also noticed how slow it is. I just loved this forum because it wasn't car specific, just a bunch of gearheads who enjoy all things with a motor in them! Where as on vehicle specific forums, if you post a topic about any other car, you just get flamed or no response at all

+1. This is why I continue to check TST. It's slow, but there is still variety.

If only more meets where more like TST, but instead they are always very clickly.

Hi everyone. I am looking for an active regional forum for meets/etc. I read through this thread and seems this may not be super active. What other sites do you like for NY/NJ area? Doesnt have to be subaru specific.

BTW. Ive lived in NY for 2 years, moving to NJ (still working in manhattan). I just bought a boring ol 2013 impreza 5sp. Used to have a 350z and an RSX before that. Was active on my350.com and semi-active on clubrsx.com
