eclipse need help
hey everyone just a quick question i took my stock 95 eclipse rs down to the island speedway i ran a 15.9 at 87mph (i know slow) but i was wondering if anybody had good idea's what to do to make it faster. i know turbo but i want to stay away from that i at least want to break 90 mph on the track lol well hit me up with any idea's thankx

sell it and get a 1g gsx. 2500 bucks and it will run low 13's. most good ones sell for around 4-5k that is your best bang for your buck. if you want to keep it, that i would say do the usual mods, exhaust, intake, i dunno, rs's aren't really a good performance platform to work with
i got a 1 gen but it ain't turbo everyone i know always has promblems with them. so anyways thanks for the critisim (i'm a ****ty speller) it has a greddy exhaust aem intake already just wondering what mods i can do to bring my time down thanks
I have a 420a myself. And i have been killing myself with the question of parting with it or not. I'm going to save you the "sell it for a 1g turbo" speech, and just give you what you asked for. upgrade the pistons, rods, cams, a larger throttle body is a common mod for us (port match the intake manifold as well), headers. Honestly though dude, ive heard from many sources that no one has even hit 200hp with a N/a 420a. Then again if you like driving it, who cares?

ya i'm not trying to be like super fast or anything like i said in the first post just want to at least break 90 in the 1/4 mile ;) but i do appreate everybodys input thanks
well i jsut put my new headers down pipe and running no cat on with my greddy exhaust see how that helps lol i'm thinking of getting a new venom intake manifold what u guys think?
honestly dude, intake and exhaust isn't gonna do too much for ya. Even full exhaust. Think of it this way: Your motor can only fit so much air in through the intake ports and such, so no matter what kind of intake you have on it, its not gonna get anymore in. It may get colder air, but its really not going to make a whole lot of difference. And the same goes for exhaust. Granted, getting rid of restrictions in the exhaust helps, to a certain degree, but it can only fit so much out of the valves/ports in the engine, you know what I mean?
In all honesty i wouldn't drop much money into the 420a other then a turbo. But even then, the engine would need a rebuild, etc. So in short i would stick to basic bolt-ons to make it "a little more fun". As for the venom intake mani, i heard stories about them needing to be modified to fit perfectly. There are plenty of places that give some really good advice and product reviews, dsmsource being one. I'm glad im not the only one going through this, haha. good luck.

Another thing that will give you a little bit of an edge, good suspension, and good tires. (or slicks if you want lol)
o ok sweet. i know that one dude a few up said that exhaust and intake dont' do much but when i ran before with out that **** i had a ****ty time now i have a decent time. i just put like i said before new headers down pipe and new cat(straight pipe) and it feels more peppy but we'll see on friday. you guys we should all meet up and hit up the island dragway on friday night i'll be there.
