fresh basil is like a million times more fragrent and more tasty when picked right off the plant. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

last week i made a sweet ass cheeseburger with sundried red pepers, fresh mozzeralla and a pesto sauce using my basil and i almost creamed it was so good.

mmmmmmmmmmm now i'm hungry.

Meeshell 07-16-2009 03:28 PM

I love my garden. 3 kinds of tomatoes (beef steak, plum and yellow this year), lettuce, cucumbers, zuchinni, potatoes, egg plant, green and red peppers, and string beans. depending on the season and weather we do spaghetti squash, pumpkins, and corn too.

Mmmmm yum.

RSX Type-Slow 07-16-2009 03:33 PM

corn will rob your garden of nutrients and leave it barren after its harvested. plus you only yield a few ears per stalk if properly fertalized. you'll need alot of corn

pumpkins would be good, bit will take up a ton of space once mature.

how big are your beefsteak tomato's now? i planted mine in the spring and their about as round as a soda can.

zex97 07-16-2009 03:37 PM

I've never dated someone with a beard. I enjoy a nice, clean shaven guy. :)

RSX Type-Slow 07-16-2009 04:01 PM

I dont do clean shaven for weddings and funerals. i hate being clean shaven.

i usually rock some light scruff all the time.

PoorMan'sR 07-16-2009 04:02 PM

i need to have some stubble on my face, or else i look like im a prepubescent teen

RSX Type-Slow 07-16-2009 04:05 PM

i dont shave with a razor, i just use beard clippers on the lowest setting. my face is too sensitive to shave every day. i get all red and i breakout like a 15 y/o

HickRocket1258 07-16-2009 04:06 PM

Well my day is done today at work. Talk to you all later and it was nice having something to kill time today.

crazyduckme 07-16-2009 04:06 PM

i enjoy the light stubble! it suits you! :)

doug 07-16-2009 04:08 PM

RSX Type-Slow 07-16-2009 04:09 PM

i think every man should at least try to have some facial hair in their lifetime. i always play around with it. mutton chops, goatee, beard, scruff. but no soul patches or mustache's please.

We've got a pretty decent sized garden with seperate sections for each vegetable... even for the different types of tomatoes. The section that is currently occupied my potatoes is what we switch corn, pumpkins or potatoes around in each summer. Its probably a section thats 7ft x 7ft if not bigger. My soil is mostly clay but we hardly fertilize. We have the garden because we want to be as organic as possible with our veggies.

Beef steaks won't be fully mature until closer to the end of this month. I haven't been out recently to check them but in the past we've had tomatoes that grow to be as big or bigger than my two hands flat out next to each other.

thats some big beefsteaks. and if you wanna be as orgnic as you can, compost is your friend. i think a 7X7 section should be ok for about 12/16 ears of corn.

dan, once you see how awesome my beard is, you AND meeshell will be jealous of the amount of masculinity covering the lower portion of my face......

Meeshell 07-16-2009 04:25 PM

Yeah we do the whole compost thing. And we use the grass clippings to cover over the dirt before and while the plants are starting to grow

Woo covered part of the wing for my model airplane. This stuff shrinks if you get a wrinkle in it so that was a plus...until off course my brother who has lots of experience with covering said to be careful shrinking because it can warp the wing. Great news to hear after I was shrinking many sections of the wing.
