i missed the meet :(. I was @ the beach or i woulda brought the summit lol

stover 07-31-2012 10:57 PM

this cars driving me insane, guess its my own fault for buying an ebay manifold but i thought if i reinforced it it would be fine, nope, wastegate tupe broke off, so i replaced it with thicker pipe, then i started getting exhaust leaks all over, i spent 3 hours welding up holes and cracks in my manifold and downpipe and still have a leak and cant find it. i just dont want to drop the money on a new manifold and have to redo my whole downpipe again

outlawzxblizz99 08-01-2012 04:07 AM

Damn that sounds like more work than it's worth. By the time you finish fixing that one you could've bought a good, used one.

HaveBlue: since you're back, get your butt over here for this stuff!

Anybody going to the shootout from here?

outlawzxblizz99 08-01-2012 05:42 PM

We were gonna go but decided not to.

11secdsm 08-01-2012 07:49 PM

I'm going with about 25 other locals.

11secdsm 08-01-2012 07:50 PM

Just ordered this up... Frontline Fab 1g machined rear diff cover with bearing cap reinforcements.

TalonTsi97 08-02-2012 12:25 AM

I'll also be there as one of the other 25 locals...along with 2 friends who aren't on here.

stover 08-02-2012 02:32 AM

Ohio. Weekend of August 17th. Get your car sorted and reliable before making that trek. (8 hour drive each way)

There's an eastcoast shootout later in the fall at Englishtown...we'll be at that one too.

What time and when are you guys leaving?

Are you going to be trying to run in any of the classes? I'm trying to make passes since my car wont pass tech anywhere here over dumb little things. But I haven't tracked the car on the new set up, so the DSM shootout might be my only opportunity to do so, but I think the only thing I would be able to try to qualify for would be DSE and I think your going to have to run sub tens to qualify :(

What won't you pass tech over?

DSE will have 9 and 10 second cars.

I'm leaving around 5am on Friday with a few people...others are leaving at midnight that morning some others are leaving Thursday night.

As for what class, too slow for Q16, I don't qualify for DSE, so bracket 1 it is.

blackvr4 08-03-2012 12:52 AM

I think you mite qualify for DSE, I know for a fact my car wont go anywhere in the 10s so I'll just TT. :( I'm still on street tires and dont think ill have the cash to get slicks before the shoot out.

As far as me not getting into Atco is I wont pass tech because I have the battery in the trunk, with 4 gauge wire running threw the interior and no bat shut off switch, I have read that it has to be 0 gauge running underneath the car with a battery shut off switch. Also have methanol injection and read that you need a fire jacket, which I do not have either.

Last year I rolled out from Jersey at 8PM on Thursday night got to Ohio at around 4, This year I'll be trailering the car so I'll be driving like a grandma. You thinking of Dynoing at Buschur on Friday?

11secdsm 08-03-2012 12:56 PM

I didn't mean I wouldn't qualify time wise...I just don't fit in the class.

"-DSE, ESA and EE are classes designed for street cars. These classes are required to run: mirrors, headlights, wipers, full body panels, full interior and full exhaust."

I don't have mirrors, headlights, wipers, full interior, or full exhaust. LOL!!

As for dynoing, my car is a heartbreaker with the auto trans. Makes over 100whp less than if it were a stick. I'll go and spectate though.

11secdsm 08-03-2012 12:58 PM

As for Atco, when was the last time you tried? The battery thing is going to be tough to get around w/o a cutoff switch, but the meth inj shouldn't be an issue.

outlawzxblizz99 08-03-2012 02:10 PM

How anal are they at Atco as far as tech inspection for test and tune nights?

damn didnt know DSE needed that much ****. Even if you spectate its awesome! because you can stay right on the line like 5 feet from some of the fastest AWD mitsubishis in the world.

I mean they are not that anal, but if you drive in there with side exhaust slicks etc they will want to look te car over. When I went there last year (twice), with meth, hx35, full exhaust, stock rims, fmic, they didnt even ask for anything just for the paper work and if I had a helmet. This year might be more difficult, due to the bumper exit exhaust, slicks, gutted car etc
.
