miro has an open diff and made it into group B...they aren't really that strict...when i went to the clinic last time they said all the same **** but there were people who had open diff's and no coils blabhalbhalha.

yea i drifted the **** out of my 92 hatch when i had it at clubloose a few years ago. open diff, stock suspension, stock motor... just made sure to have some beat ass tires that broke loose easy :lol:

I don't know if I'll be able to pull off an open diff. My car isn't even finished yet and it would give me less than a week to learn how to drift and I don't have the time or the patience right now. **** is just crazy at work. We'll see what happens.


Yeah, I saw the wheels. Not my cup of tea. They are nice though. Reese has a pair of 17x9s for me. That'll make it even harder to break loose.

I had Rich take a look at my car when I was there...I wanna get some exhaust work did. So I'll be around to look at your car's progress. I won't be getting loose anytime soon tho lol.

I'll say it again - I don't want to be that nagging bastard but in all honesty... bring your car up to the oval. I went from no drifting to being able to do all the turns fine and people looking at me like, "This is your second time on the track doing this?" like I was lying to them.

Forget about learning to drift in a week, just get some seat time. You can't break anything up here and you can get acquainted with how the car handles and get as many people to give you pointers/show you how it works. Parking lot is one thing, but learning to give the car the proper direction is another thing...

Regardless - coils w/open diff is fine. I know you won't be able to shred at CL, but open diff is all good up here. There are plenty of people up here who got their hands dirty up here for the first time on open diff and eventually went to viscous, then to welded, etc.

Don't worry about the 17x9s... You could stretch a 205 on them if you REALLY wanted to, but on the stock KA just clutch kick the **** out of it while turning and you'll break loose on basically anything.

jacki if you intend to drift with it, you should really think about starting out running stock wheels with like 195s on em. then move up to some ballin **** that grips better like 17x9s... and then u should think about more power if u wanna drift with them

oh and dont forget to crank that dizzy and run some 93 :mrgreen: youll be sideways easy!

sorry but we would love to bring the car out there but there is just no way that is going to happen.....plus i ain't gonna let her drive up there, i mean if i was going to slide then maybe yeah but we have to trailer my car and that means she would be ride solo on the long ride back...she will be out at the CL event next year and she will be turbo by then. but in the mean time she needs the car back soon so she can drive to and from college.

She'l be riding co pilot at the STATE College event
