yea it sucks big time..if you were gonna be leaving before noon, i wouldnt have been able to ride with you anyway cause i got class till 1150. unless i find out tomorrow its ready, should be ready by thurs. i absolutely need it for friday though so hopefully it'll be ready thurs if not before..doesnt sound like you'll have a hard time getting your new issue fixed. its always somethin. good luck tomorrow.

PaleDSM 10-24-2007 09:01 PM

We got the tracking info today for your ecu so you will be back on the road tomorrow. :)

97TurboDSM 10-24-2007 09:08 PM

thanks a lot. you have an approximate time so i can get a ride up there? also, did you guys get my pm about my recirculation fitting? also could we do a boost/vacuum leak test tomorrow if it already hasnt been done?

PaleDSM 10-24-2007 09:42 PM

I believe a boost leak check was already done on the car. I'll check in the am.

The ecu should be in by about 1pm. That is when the trucks typically make it too us for deliveries.

97TurboDSM 10-24-2007 09:44 PM

thats perfect. i should be arriving around 3pm or so. thanks again for takin care of me

turbo4g63 10-25-2007 05:33 PM

hows she running?

97TurboDSM 10-25-2007 06:45 PM

like absolute crap. it was running rich so we pulled fuel. now at any sign of boost it bogs and stutters and shakes horribly. its a real pain in the ass to drive. it pulled HARD and until about 5k rpms before, and then it would stutter bc of too much fuel is my guess. something really isnt right

Whats it tuned with? Since the ecu was taken out I think it needs tuning again.

Yea SAFC. Did they even tune it after they put your car back together?

No, no real tuning was done to the car. The Safc settings were backwards from where they should be so we put some rough injector compensation settings in and told him to get a real tune. No datalogger or no wideband in the car made it dangerous to just go out and do WOT tuning blind.

turbo4g63 10-25-2007 08:29 PM

looks like you need to pick up a wideband matt. browse dsmsource and dsmtuners...you might be able to find a pretty good deal there.

97TurboDSM 10-25-2007 09:12 PM

well guys, after turning the car off and driving again, it pulls HARD to 6k and then is a lil whacky but i knew that. so for now all is good and i know i need to look into some tuning software but funds are a lil tight right now so as long as she keeps on keepin on like she is now im fine with it. hopefully i can make it to the dyno day and get some kinks worked out. thanks again to jnz

turbo4g63 10-25-2007 09:22 PM

if it seems to be ok now, then thats great...i bet the ecu just needed to relearn some stuff. like my car was idleing at 3k rpms for about 15 minutes after i left yesterday. but after like 15 minutes i went back to normal, and now it runs great

97TurboDSM 10-25-2007 10:42 PM

yea i think that was the case too. i need to find a cheap wideband or an ecu socketed for dsmlink and a logger. something will be comin soon

Kevin 10-26-2007 01:40 AM

http://www.dsmtuners.com/classifieds...ct=65285&cat=7

* 2g DSMLink w/ 95 Eprom ECU & Cable - $700 obo

lil much for your situation I think.

97TurboDSM 10-26-2007 02:34 AM

i dunno, might pick it up. im not sure which route i wanna go yet. whether it be dsmlink or otherwise. i gotta do a bit more searching to figure out what i really want. thanks for the link

jordanrw 10-26-2007 06:59 AM

I was there when you picked up your car yesterday, nice 2g. Definately get DSMlink, you won't regret it.

PaleDSM 10-26-2007 09:12 AM

We have DSMLink on sale right now and we have a 2G EPROM socketed in stock. ;) I think Chris mentioned it to you.

There is nothing wrong with the Safc on small-mid setups though. Get a cheap logger and a wideband and you can tune the car pretty damn good.
What is your budget for a WB?

im not worrying about budget right now. i'm going to price some things out and go from there. other than DSMLink, what would you suggest?

PaleDSM 10-26-2007 04:18 PM

For the money DSMLink is definately the way to go. Everything else is pretty much just a piggyback like what you have already or a stand alone like the AEM EMS. The other option is Greddy Emanage but that is ballpark with the DSMLink and not nearly as widely supported or liked.

97TurboDSM 10-26-2007 06:37 PM

thanks, just found a barely used dsmlink that someone got for free and is accepting offers. still gonna need a socketed ecu but hopefully i can score this for cheap.
