armyguy6566 05-22-2009 09:55 AM

7.5 sounds right

JKZ 05-22-2009 10:16 AM

I dont know anyone that runs that small of a slick...

Not knowing your fender or suspension clearence you could maybe get away with the following.

Hoosier DOT Drag Radial (Slick)
225/50/15
17310

MickeyThompson ET Street Radial
26x9.5R15
3752R

Edit: Should have asked before... Are you making power? Slicks dont instantly make your car run faster...

armyguy6566 05-22-2009 10:26 AM

they are for future use. I might go with smaller rim.

I'm just sayin...it's gonna be a slow car, slicks or not, people are just going to laugh at him when they see it with slicks on it and then pull those times.

JKZ 05-22-2009 10:43 AM

So what if people laugh? I ran a 23 the last time i was at atco.

If its what he wants and makes him happy then so be it.

haha that definitely goes to show that you cant judge by track times. that stupid z would walk most cars.

as far as the jetta, 23x8x15, or 24x8x15 will work for you. granted you don't need them yet, and you probably wont for a while. slicks compensate for a bad driver in the beginning. some people run and grab slicks cause they keep spinning off the line in their underpowered car. the trick is to learn how to launch. then when you are the limit of what street tires can do at the track, get slicks.

njsharkracer 05-22-2009 12:59 PM

that has to be the oddest looking time slip. trapped at 105 and at 23 seconds. i need to see that.

JKZ 05-22-2009 01:10 PM

LOL unfortunitly i dont have any of the time slips from that day since i would rather not remember them..

Its either A) Syncros for 1-2 are done B) Throwout bearing C) Clutch D) both A & C (What I beleive it to be)
