Last night after a bunch of us left Levittown Sonic we came up to Bensalem. Police came and we had a talk, this is where it stands now.

Sonic wants us there, they want our business, and they don't mind us hanging out. Dan (manager at Bensalem Sonic) told me there haven't been any complaints that he's heard, but the township thinks otherwise. For us to be there, Sonic would need a permit to host the meet, at which point they would be liable if someone left the meet and hit another car, or decided to drag race on street road, and even if Sonic did take on that responsibility, the township could always deny the permit.

In the coming weeks, vr-4-life and myself will be working with Dan (manager at Bensalem) and Kirk (manager at Levittown) as well as the townships to try and get the permits pushed through so we can keep having the meets, but for now, the meets are at a pause.

You can still come and get food and eat it there, but anything more than that is considered loitering and you may get a ticket for it so as of now, take your chances if you wish. I'll update when I get more info.

if the children that borrow daddy's mustangs wouldnt TRY to break the wheels loose up street road, maybe that wouldnt be a problem. Or the kids in some of the hondas tearing ass up street road like they're racing someone.

And, technically, if you're in the parking lot with some kinda of item with a sonic logo on it, they can't give you a ticket for loitering because you are a paying customer.

I don't know the fine print of things, but this is the message we got at both locations last night. I'll still be coming to eat but I won't be staying to hang around.

hahaha

Damn hope we get that permit!

Turbo Suicide 05-16-2009 10:59 AM

Like I said, Sonic soda in your hand, burger in your mouth...no ticket for being a paying customer, even if you are standing around talking to each other.

The permit will get rejected, cuz all 5 people who live around there will be against it. When it comes to cars, nobody cares. Even if the love of cars is what keeps people out of trouble, and by that I mean they could be doing worse....killing people, dealing drugs, raping your mother....just to name a few. Townships never like anything pertaining to modified cars.

Permit? LOL... You dont need a permit for this. It's PRIVATE property.

According to the Bensalem cop last night, you do need a permit for the meets.

Alex we will just have to go to "the spot" like last night but you were gay and the first to leave.

CarbonIS 05-16-2009 03:06 PM

how can they give you a ticket for loitering on private property without the complaint of the owner? this all sounds ridiculous.
