Nice, and sucks about the trade you had going on...I think I am taking my dad shooting sunday for a little....

im going to CPI tomorrow w. jon to sell the P238 and do a little shootin' if anyone wants to join us!

Munky 02-11-2011 02:28 AM

Yeah well I was more or less doing the trade to help a co-worker out. I was going to sell him one of the Glocks and keep the other for myself. Then with the money from the one I sold to him I was going to buy either another AR15 and use all the accessories I was keeping from my Colt to build it up or I was going to look into getting another 1911. But instead I found an XD40 for my co-worker for under $400 and as it turns out the guy he's buying it off of use to work at the college we work at so he knows him anyway. Funny how guns tend to bring people together.

want a streetbike lol

99corvette 02-11-2011 11:00 AM

picked up a 870 police magnum yesterday. its a old pd gun with a surefire front handguard. the internals look good, but man the outside of the gun is worn. figured it would be a rainy day project. its got the extended magazine tube with a 18inch barrel.

I plan on talking to my buddy this weekend and seeing if he is cool with a meet at his farm.

Only day I could do this month is the 20th so I think we should plan on early march.

Have you guys seen this??? :supz:

...

I probably won't be able to make it any Saturday until April, but a Sunday is easier to arrange if you guys plan it on a Sunday. We're busting our asses getting ready for a big car show that's on March 24-27th so that weekend is definitely out for me, as are most weekends until then. We have eight weeks weeks left until the show and we just got the frame of the truck we're building back from sandblasting yesterday and etch primed it this morning

That KSG looks awesome and I would definitely consider buying something like that, but I refuse to buy a 'beta'. I'll wait until all the problems get ironed out. After SHOT everyone was talking about the dead trigger issue and other problems. No big deal, I just don't want to be the one who buys one with problems. lol

I'll shoot for a sunday then. Usually works better for me anyway.

Import Junky 02-11-2011 12:20 PM

I've been thinking about buying some more guns. I have an XDM .40 that i bought when they first came out. I'm looking to get a subcompact 9mm as well. My buddy just picked up two AR15's so that's on my list as well. Ahh decisions, decisions.

ick i think that may be the ugliest gun ive ever seen, ive never been a kel-tec fan though..

::edit:: or a bulpup fan haha

DC2.2GSR 02-11-2011 12:45 PM

It is really ugly but I just really like the concept, especially as a go-to home defense gun. It's really short (maneuverable) without being a registered SBS/AOW. The high capacity and ability to switch to slugs quickly is a huge plus. Assuming it gets proven reliable I would be a big fan of it.

::yawn:: saiga w/ Drum.

DC2.2GSR 02-11-2011 01:01 PM

lol well yeah that's one option, but that's also gigantic in comparison. The Saiga/drum is quite the setup for a s***load of fun on a range (or post-apocalyptic zombie hunting) but something like the KSG is going to be infinitely better while moving around inside your house. A semi-auto version of it would probably be the best possible solution, but even the pump would be pretty damn good.

yeah, the bullpup design is imo what makes the KSG something special. It's so compact compared to any other type of 12g scatter gun yet hold a lot more ammo.

Detachable box mag and semi-auto would make this thing pretty much unbeatable for home defense, provided it was reliable.

~Brian~ 02-11-2011 03:22 PM

I finally got my debit card in the mail, so now I can buy..

Only problem is that four of the five are no longer useful.

I'm about to order from Gilberts, but they are raping me on shipping. Do you know any more sites?

*Edit- I went back to Midway and found them back in stock for $17.99 per box.

Looking for a nice, heavy fabric range bag. Any suggestions?

mike picked one up that he wouldnt shut up about  I guess it comes down to what you want to spend.. I picked up a few of these: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/BAG158-1.html and gave one to steve with the glock so he can probably chime in about the quality, for the price (and the fact that you dont bring many guns w you when you shoot) i say it perfect!

5.11 tactical has some really nice **** too. without getting it i am pretty sure this is the one i use: http://www.511tactical.com/All-Produ...bound-Bag.html however it IS really pricey..

also take a look at voodoo, we use their drag bags and even when they are literally drug over cement are holding up so far!

DC2.2GSR 02-12-2011 09:16 PM

haha yeah yeah i know. I guess I did talk about it a lot. It's a nice bag though, I'm really happy with it. It's one of those things that's not really phenomenal at any one thing, it's just all around a really good choice and you know it's going to last. The price was definitely awesome, pretty much on par with cheaper than dirt pricing. I paid $30 for the small one and $40 for the full size bag. You just have to make sure you get it on sale though, and MidwayUSA keeps flipping the prices back and forth for different color bags.

Here's a pretty good comparison between the regular and 'compact' (not really compact at all)

Dave the one you gave me works great and holds a good amount of stuff, and the material seems good...could really pack it full if you needed too, i at the moment really dont need too ha...

I would suggest picking it up no doubt

I really like that black bag, but midway wants $50 for it. I only have one gun, so I think I'll just try to catch it on sale.

cmr076 02-13-2011 01:11 AM

ughh someone talk me out of buying a william henry knife PLEASE! they are GORGEOUS but insanely expensive... I am literally on the verge (or if someone has one they wanna sell..........)

lol they're retarded. Now it's the black ones that are full price and the OD green ones are on sale. Just keep watching them. Back in November they were all on sale :screwy:

wow. I just checked out their website. That's absolutely incredible work.

however...

Don't buy one. lol. It's going to be just like your Sig. It's a really nice conversation piece and that's about it. It would be amazing to have, but it will serve absolutely no purpose. Then again (to completely contradict myself), it doesn't really have to serve a purpose. If you want it, buy it. When it's your time to go you can't take a damn thing with you so you might as well enjoy everything. If it's within reach, go for it.

I'm mainly a 'function' kind of guy. I would never be able to tolerate having something just for the sake of having it. I love nice things, but only when they're actually functional. Those knives would sure as hell cut anything and everything, but are you ever going to touch the blade to a surface to cut it? Probably not.

My idea of a beautiful, functional, 'high-end' knife is an Emerson. They're made very well and are relatively reasonably priced, look awesome, and aren't so fancy that they're useless. There's really nothing like the feel of a really well made strong knife.

agreed, I have ALWAYS carried a knife (actually two daily, my kershaw in my pocket and a ka-bar on my boot) but I have just recently gotten "into" them for anything other than their practical use (hopefully this doesn't go the direction my gun buying has gone)

believe it or not a knife like that probably wouldnt end up like my python or 210, I use my kershaw EVERY day a LOTTTT, if I had a nice knife like the WH I probably would use it,absolutely take care of it, but use it every day (I think it would be that much more meaningful when I pass her down to my firstborn [assuming i have kids ::scared::])

I know what you mean. I can't tell you how many times a day I use my knife. I carry a Kershaw Blur every day (cheapo Walmart knife - +/- $60) and it sees an incredible amount of use. From standard stuff like cutting cardboard, opening packages, etc. all the way to things like pressing down tape edges when I'm taping cars for paint or cleaning the dried compound off of the buffing pad. It's beat up but I keep it sharp and oiled.

I used to have an Emerson/Hilton Yam/10-8 M-Wave and like a goddamn idiot I sold it to buy my F7 RLCAs for my Integra back when I actually gave a s*** about cars. I used to only carry that knife when I would go out dressed a little nicer and when I wasn't expecting to have to actually use it much. Riding in a pocket isn't what it was made for, but I thought it was too nice (and too rare) to beat up.

Now I wouldn't think twice about it. I take care of my stuff but I've also stopped caring about resale value (keeping it nice) and switched my focus onto things like you said about 'passing it down'. There's something really appealing about passing down a high end knife that's been through hell and back and having it still function like it was new.

Then again, to have kids to pass things down to I need to actually find a halfway decent girl... and I think I'll have better luck becoming POTUS. lol

haha you could always adopt as a single dad and use the little asian/thai/whatever baby to pull girls.. im trying to beat the guy up on price, got him below 600 so far.... I guess we will see where this goes i want it below 500 so only time will tell..

After looking at my kershaw Leek I will have to take it a little easier on this "nice" knife (the tip of my Leek is gone, the finish is destroyed and I sharpen her entirely too much)

I only sharpen stone sharpen my Blur about once a month, but I touch it up every few days or whenever it needs it just by dragging it through the built in sharpener in the sheath of my Gerber LMFII. It's just enough to touch up the edge without taking off too much material. I should probably get a real sharpener for that though.. the sheath sharpener is pretty much dead.
