croydon wants $175. i use a place in Oxford PA. 60 miles south near my parents place. cheaper in amishville lol.

HaveBlue83 12-03-2011 12:12 AM

found a 6 bolt for $300. 117k. looking to get it soon and save for a build, but who knows.

would be nice tho. maybe JAM could mod the motor mount connections and tensioner area for the 2g when I get it redone? I'd like a drop in setup if possible. Hopes & dreams baby! lol

Just bought this one tonight. I actually built/color changed this car in mid 09', Then sold it (Some may remember being I had it listed on here back when I was able to list in the forsale section. It sold the same day I finished it. It is now ''weathered'' a bit as you can see in the picture, But I should have it up and back to 100% by friday, And then it'll be sold within a few days after that I'm guessing.

stroker, dsmlink, 20g, coil overs/all suspension, All the bolt ons ETC.

Anyone on here know of a grey colored Galant vr4 that is no longer with the owner? My guy who goes to the junkyard when ever these worthwhile cars come in , Got the call to show up the other day. Got the engine and a ton of mods off the car. Engine is built, Has dual springs, Cams, 1mm o/s valves, arp everything, ETC..... Zero issues with the engine. Has a fidanza flywheel and an act 4 puck clutch kit. Full 3" exhaust and a ton of other stuff.... It's really a shame I hate to walk, because he always gets calls 3-4 times a week on what cars are being dropped so he can be there to get it all. Usually all new motors or built setups, Tons of c/f body parts ETC ! Luck him !!! This past month at least 4-5 built dsm's showed up with every bolt on out there.

WHAT? Who ditches a GVR4 like that?

EklipzGSXkid 12-05-2011 09:34 PM

I'm not sure where the cars come from.

From what he told me, Alot of these modified cars that get sent there, Come from police impounds or are repo'd. Most have zero issues (Literally). Most people that go there will only see the stripped down shell unfortunatly.

I never knew the stuff that goes to a junkyard, Until I seen it first hand getting unloaded after my friend leaves. I've seen expensive coil over setups, c/f body panels, built motors, tons of electronics (widebands, ebc's, ETC), fmic kits .. There's no way that the owner of any of these cars would have no common sense, And take the car to the scrap yard for $500, Which leads me to believe it's true about them being impound/repo'd cars.

Anybody see this thread on tuners yesterday?

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag...ken-ostar.html

Never though a stock 4G would go that far. Make me happy to own my stock 4G car lol.

knochgoon24 12-05-2011 11:48 PM

I still have a stock bottom end too. I'd keep it for a while if I wasn't going for a 2.4L for a little extra spunk.

As much as I like the 2.4, I don't like cracked cranks.

knochgoon24 12-06-2011 12:19 AM

We'll see. I have been debating on just stroking the block I have, as debate implies, I haven't made up my mind. I want a little more displacement though.

Current plans involve a HE351ve with a homemade electronic controller to get that working. I've started on the controller already, and it doesn't seem like that's going to be as hard as some people have made it out to be. Funds are just a tad dry until the new year starts.

It's still the same crank as a stroker. I'm just not sure why we hear of more cranks cracking.

Got Insulin? 12-06-2011 12:43 AM

I personally feel that the "cracked crank" bit runs from the same folks that promulgated the " every 2G 7bolt walks" theories. Lots of theories, less proving of cause. There was a local with a G4CS/42R combo running around south jersey and was taking on liter bike by the handful, and I never knew of his cracking a crank. There's drawbacks to every camp's "proven" method. I personally like the idea of a aluminium rod 2.2 with a 35r of some sort or something similar on it. It'll happen if I can swing this Galant.

HaveBlue83 12-06-2011 02:28 PM

just pick up that galant already!!!

Gto is sex

You have a # for the GVR4? They have a dash plate, with their "production" number... you can usually find out good info on the car by searching that number.

Tru2Blu 12-06-2011 08:34 PM

Question: Will i fail NJState inspection if my active aero light on the dash is on?

TalonTsi97 12-06-2011 09:45 PM

GVauto's 1g GSX hit the track the other day. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T31i2...el_video_title

EklipzGSXkid 12-06-2011 09:51 PM

Here is the blue 2g I bought yesterday! I sold it tonight so I figured I'd get one last pic of it!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...-19-06_121.jpg

The previous owner had no idea why it woulden't run and thought it ''blew up''. The only problem was two swapped wires on the 6-bolt cas plug.

Edit: That was a great video, The car looks great. I'd love to have that !

No, I took my 3S there with the SRS light on and no front plate, only failed for visible smoke, twice. Turbos are bad :( You will only fail if you have a "Check Engine Light", or smoke/fail your emissions test.

Visible smoke you say? that might be a problem. lol.

Edit: when you fail, can you still drive the car till you get the problem fixed?

Yea, I failed twice. Don't know how many more times I can fail so I stopped going back. That has been like ~2 months ago and I just DD my car with a big fat rejected sticker on the car. :(
