So the Galant was radical, but with my school loans coming in, unavailable. I did however pick up a second job, so if it's still around in the spring, I might to snatch it up.

Being an adult suucckkksss sometimes.

I have brand new in box prothane engine mounts & Hawk HPS rear pads for the car if interested!

congrats on the new purchase.

HaveBlue83 12-01-2011 02:14 PM

i need engine mounts...lol

soooooo, my ISC crapped out yesterday. HELLO 1,200rpm idle :/

pulled one for $20 from a 93 Tsi awd and dropped my socket onto my frame crossmember during install. FML. I have more tools @ work thank god, but i get to do the arm wiggle/magnet routine again. yayyyy

and my oil pump is 360 out of phase...yup. at least I will be able to do timing blindfolded this time.

dsm4life even when its failing :)

Question on stock oil gauge. From start up to drive to park the gauge fluctuates. Sometimes staying high, other times low and then at times its right in the middle. What could this be? I was a 92 3000gt vr4

boostedsm 12-01-2011 03:09 PM

sensor could be unplugged. check by the oil filter housing

boostedsm 12-01-2011 03:13 PM

woops totally didnt see you had a vr4 3kgt. but still, could be a bad oil pressure sensor.

It should fluctuate as you drive depending on RPM and oil temp.

Tru2Blu 12-01-2011 06:27 PM

Thanks for the advice.

HaveBlue83 12-02-2011 09:35 AM

mine suuucked on my 2g. my gst was normal, my tsi was Always low. i got an autometer and its perfectly where it needs to be. just showed me that stock gauge is 99% worthless.

i picked up a ISC for $20, idle is back to 750 and no hangs :) my iscposition is really low on the logs but at this point idk. i will check for boost leaks so i dont foul out another one.

kthackst 12-02-2011 12:12 PM

I was having some idle surge so I decided to follow your lead and replace the ISC with an extra one I had lying around. We will see how well it does on my way to work.

So, in a crazy turn of events, the Galant I was looking at is back on the table. My main issue now: finding somewhere to store it.

Tarp?

Got Insulin? 12-02-2011 01:39 PM

I'm actually thinking storage unit. Sit on it for a bit until I can get it road worthy. And save up the staggering $48 dollars a year that it will raise my insurance, hahaha

HaveBlue83 12-02-2011 02:31 PM

^^^^^this. my 10x20 Storage unit costs me $105/month.

PLUS I feel like Paul Walker when I roll up the door and drive my car out :D lol

Got Insulin? 12-02-2011 02:44 PM

$105? That's not bad at all. Which one do you use? Croyden is only like a stone's throw from me.

Tru2Blu 12-02-2011 04:07 PM

3S guys, im looking for 99 style lifters to get rid of this annoying sound. Does anyone have them or a source, let me know.

EklipzGSXkid 12-02-2011 05:38 PM

If you aren't far from me, You can store it in my heated/secure garage for $75/month. It will not be touched, And will be under a car cover in a corner of the garage, Fully insured incase anything were to happen, You would get full pay-out on what it's actual cost is.

Got Insulin? 12-02-2011 06:57 PM

Man that is tempting, but you're a good 100 miles from me if you're in Hazleton (if I remember correctly). I really appreciate the offer, and may take you up on it at some point. Thanks!
