I have so many stories from 11..12.. or so years of horseback riding. I don't know how I'm not dead. I have witnessed broken necks, broken bones protruding out of skin, a horse falling 5 feet on top of their rider over a water jump..
I do miss horseback riding, I will pick it up again and get myself some nice thoroughbred geldings. Preferably bay... But I would like an arabian one day too. Gah. I love and miss it. And yeah, horseback riding was expensive. Just the proper attire for the rider, to compete at least.. is expensive.. shirts, briches, boots, spurs, helmets, jackets, cross-country vests not to mention grain, supplements, hay, straw, board, saddle, bridles, halters, leads, different stirrups, teeth & hoof maintenance, blankets, leg wrap, etc. etc. etc. But, for just a pleasure rider.... board, food, vet is really all you're consistently paying for. |

the pony was ****ing awesome... we probably could have chilled with it, pet it and stuff... but i didn't want to feed into the whole feeding the wild ponies and stuff... so we watched him and he got done taking a sand bath, hung out and trotted off. |
Dude, ponies have so much funk and attitude. Loved ponies, haha.

the best was getting into the sheep/goat area and they had one really well domesticated pet goat that would come right up to get petted... but then the rams would sneak up on you when you turned your back... had to watch out for those assholes or it was a horn in your ass |

I used to exercise a lot of horses at my old stables on the weekends. Ponies were definitely fun. There was one named Woody  and yeah, before you ask, his dong was always chilling out haha. I'm surprised he never knocked it on the jumps he went over when I took him out for exercise.
Also rode a huge appaloosa named App, lol, Some sort of chestnut small horse/large pony mix named Jewel A dapple grey pony mix named Q A LARGE chestnut gelding named Charlie An old chestnut gelding named Wickett Rode a liver bay pony named Issy (short for Isn't She Cute) A paint mix named Geronimo A palomino mare named Daisy? Or Buttercup? something flowery.. A bay gelding named Tyler... A welsh pony named Silver, lol My goodness. |
