If you want to be a real stickler about it, no DSMs were actually made after 1995.
That maroon 2GB is a beaut, Rob. |
Thanks Taylor! If you mean the 2gB gsx, I just did that for someone that is going to be buying it (just told them give me the look/color/int/engine ETC that you want and i'll turn it into what you picture which is basically a stock appearing/clean 2gB). you should have seen it before. Maybe I'll throw up a quick build thread for it.
My price still stayed the same as it useto from over a year ago when I useto do them and list them forsale. $6k, new: color change/engine/trans/clutch/flywheel/every bolt-on+ turbo/suspension/wheels/tires/body/interior/gauges ETC). If you meant the 2gB talon, That one is actually dufflebagboyz 2gB ! It's extremly clean. It's getting a MASSIVE build (Everything is already at the garage for it now). |
^^ tbh, my man to get **** done 0.- oh btw anyone looking for a clean ass 2ga talon? celery green too with 33k miles?

I just wanted to update you on that talon I was asking about..
It has good vibrations stickers everywhere. There is a massive good vibes auto sales sticker in the back window, two on the side 1/4 windows. I think one on the windshield? It was involved in a pretty big flood from the looks of the entire car and everything on/in it. Other then being completly screwed up from flood damage, The actual body is basically flawless though. |

correct shane, it was my old car. here is a little history on it: back in 2005 (maybe 2006) i got the DSM itch again (had owned DSMs before and gotten out of them for a while). I was currently working at Good Vibes (when it was Good vibrations on 611) and we were doing a LOT of DSMs. At the time a good friend of mine was also into DSMs (he was always a 1g guy) so I called him and told him to keep an eye out for a clean unmolested example (i was very picky with what DSM i would buy since so many were hacked). he laughed when i called him and told him to keep an eye out... his dad (who is in his 60s) had picked up a MINT red/charcoal leather 2g talon from the original elderly female owner (she was in her late 70s i believe and it was her husbands car before he passed away), ZERO modifications other than a very high end audio system. it had 40k-ish miles on it with all maintenance done and records of everything. I told him i would be there in an hour with cash. I bought the car for $8500.00 and played with it stock for a few months. The first mod was window tint (since we did that at GV) and a 1g BOV, H&R race springs and the TSW kayalame wheels (i took the wheels off a totaled customers RSX that had an outstanding balance with us on the RSX before he totaled it, so he gave us the car as payment). After the wheels i ordered the Sparco Torino seats from motovicity along with a roll of red sparco fabric for the headliner and had one of my installers do the wrap job for me, it looked great when it was done! that following november my friends all pitched in a bought me the dejon intake BOV and race FMIC, matt installed it for me along with the apexi downpipe and HKS hi-power cat back. over the winter i added a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 (top of the line at the time). I enjoyed her in the snow and then my clutch went, I threw in an ACT 2100 with LWFW and new master cylinder and greddy shift knob :supz: for X-mas carl (the old gv owner gave me a DSM-link which i also had matt install with an eprom ecu) after the clutch & DSM-link (in typical DSM fashion) something else broke... my turbo seals went. we threw in a 14b from a low mile 1g we had at the shop and i started getting sick of fixing her all the time, so i posted her up for sale. I kept getting bull**** offers and eventually sold her for $6300 with 79k miles to some kid in the poconos who couldnt even drive stick  the car had ZERO issues and certainly no flood damage the above is all that i can remember, i am sure some of the details are not in the correct order, but it WAS quite a few years ago. here are a few pics, if you need any more info rob shoot me a PM (i dont come in the DSM section any more haha) here she is how i got her, bone stock (this was on one of our cruises with nick, corey, etc. etc.) http://i44.tinypic.com/svih5u.jpg here she is at the CF show with the wheels, springsw, seats, etc. etc. http://i43.tinypic.com/1sfkab.jpg getting the FMIC and stuff installed http://i41.tinypic.com/p9nkj.jpg the headliner when it looked good http://i42.tinypic.com/2qcr1av.jpg how she looked when i sold her http://i41.tinypic.com/1zd9ixf.jpg |
Thank you very, Very much for all of that information and pictures!!! I can't believe the car looked so good when you owned it. The car was down by carlisle or something like that, Just sitting, Probably to the end of it's time until we got it.
Here are a few pictures of how it arrived (Beware!): http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...d/DSCN0263.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...d/DSCN0264.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...d/DSCN0266.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...d/DSCN0268.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...d/DSCN0270.jpg |
jesus that makes me sad... its been out of inspection for almost 4 years.
does it still have the greddy rad cap :) also, i forgot there was a boost gauge (Autometer) and an AEM wideband in one of those dual gauge pods that go around the speedo and tach also pull the cover off where the arrow is pointing below, we made a sweet stealth sub box http://i44.tinypic.com/205edec.jpg |
I want that damn car. I always loved it.
|
The rad cap is still there, Along with the hidden sub. The dejon intake pipe was also laying in the car. The before and after pictures goes to show you what some owners do to these cars. I always see them in this condition, But never seen them when they were in their prime. It no longer has the gauges. Supposibly someone (maybe the guy who just sold it), Tried swapping in another motor because something went wrong with the old engine. They coulden't get it to run or get pulse to the injectors or something they were saying. It's a 95-96 engine in the car now, With the harness hacked together to run the cas under the cam gear like 2gA cars. It's really a shame to see it in it's current condition. The previous owner said he bought the sparco's, And then it got flood damaged. Goes to show yet again not to believe alot of the people selling these cars in rough shape!
I will update you when the car starts to get built ! At least it will be running in great condition again, Before the nice weather comes. It came with a mitsu flanged bolt on 50-trim, The dejon piping/fmic/intake/sub and a new mhi b16g that was just literally thrown in the back of the car with all the other junk. It still has the tsw's too and suspension aswell. It was purchased for next to nothing the way it sits. |

::edit:: i bet i can dig up some receipts from this car (seats, FMIC, etc.) |
that would be wild if u bought it back!
just out of curiosity, whats the odo read now? |
Has anybody here gone to Atco raceway lately? I want to take my car but keep hearing that they make you have a firejacket if you have an upgraded turbo (I really do not want to spend 100 dollars to buy a firejacket). Do they actually tech the car or is that all just hearsay? And if they do tech it do they even know what they are looking at as far as imports go? There is nothing flashy in my engine bay everything is black and dirty/covered in oil stains and such.

The car currently has in the 7x,xxx mileage range still ! The last owner blew the car up and tried swapping in another motor but that was a complete disaster and the car hasen't run since.
|
thats incredible. you should do your best to just restore it to how dave had it because i'm telling you, his car was sick back in the day.

Ok I guess I'll play. 1990 AWD 52000 miles
