i agree with Mike a bit... this place has gotten quite a bit stricter... and I assume its b/c there is a need to keep the growing number of users in check.
I see no reason to police off topic as much as is now being done. If a thread goes off topic, and no one is getting upset... or there is no "flame war" going on... whats the harm in letting it go on? People are using the forum and having a good time... we're showing potential new users that we're a jolly bunch. I've never seen a forum so strict in regards to the off topic section than this place.... and if i didn't enjoy talking with a handful of the people on here i would have moved on myself. I mean, i really don't contribute elsewhere on this forum... but no one is really asking questions about SRT-4's or classic chevy trucks... |

Well, IMO, if every thread goes off topic in off topic, there will never really be a thread with any purpose lol, nothing would be relevant anymore.

As long as no one is getting hurt, there shouldn't be a reason to pass out infraction points like candy and for a mod to waste their time cleaning something up. I don't know about other people on here... but i've got a fairly thick skin... it doesn't bother me one bit if a thread evolves... or is just downright taken off topic... but most of the off topic threads evolve from one topic to another... something gets said, and a new conversation is started around that. |

EXACTLY!!! Thank you. And I do try to contribute when I can. But going off topic in an off topic section doesn't even make sense. |

I obviously have gone off topic before, as I'm sure we all have. But if a topic keeps getting really off topic, why not just refer to the Whatever thread? Lol or just post a sentence underneath relevant to the topic. I mean, I'm not saying topics will always stay on topic, but if it's really getting to the point of irrelevancy to the OP, and you KNOW infractions/warnings/deleting will come.. why not just go to this thread?

:( Does it count that I still love you.
