Morning All!
Yesterday I was pretty much given the best opportunity I have ever had. My girlfriend's neighbor and his son have recently opened up an Mechanic Shop, and they have been getting extremely popular, and are now needing to hire. Both the father and son taught at Votech, and they loved teaching at Votech, so they offered me a job and said that they would teach me as I go along. So yesterday I put my 2 weeks notice in at the Retirement Home I work at now, and the current boss there said he was going to miss me because I have one of the best Work Ethics he has ever seen. Pretty cool feeling to hear that!

That means if it ever doesn't work out at this shop, that you might have the ability to go back and work there.

HickRocket1258 05-30-2012 10:27 AM

Morning all. Might take the mustang to the track this weekend and try bracket racing with a supercharger on. Assuming I fix the rich in bank 1 and 2 issue.

Yeah I mentioned that in my resignation letter. I just tried to make it as simple as possible but I said that I loved the opportunities that were provided by them, and I hope to be considered to be rehired in the future if I reapply.

Also! Car is back up for sale! Looking to buy something new by the end of summer.

I swear I'm going to end up in prison over someone's stretched tires.

It's more of a safety thing for me... It just happens to look stulid also.

It's not that I care that much.. I'm just intrigued by things I don't understand... like marriage, religion, politics and people's incessant need to attempt to control what others do. And there is NOTHING I understand less than stretched tires.

It's like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion. You can see all of these people doing something stupid and you can't stop them or help them. They wouldn't want to be helped anyway! They just don't get it. This is one of those fads we're going to look back on and facepalm over.

It's just beyond retarded. It's like someone let them know "hey, tuner wings are ****ing stupid, find something else to do". The thing that kills me is that these ARE The same people who would point out a tuner wing on a civic and call it stupid. I think the older fast and furious civic tuning was more tasteful and sane than what we've got going on these days.

My BIGGEST issue is that people will mod up a car with good performance mods, big brakes, turbo, 400+ hp, and then stretch the tires, **** the camber into stupid-ville, and drop the car so it scrapes if you hit a pebble. Look, everyone can have their style, but for me it's a *complete* mind ****. Why bother with the performance mods at all. You might as well just do it to a stock civic if it's a style thing. To me it just screams "rob me!, I have so much money I don't even have to bother even pretending to make sane decisions anymore".

This was done to an M3 race car I was considering buying. It was a "drift" car. Complete with vinyl bandaid and zipties. I always thought it was just the VW guys. I was wrong... Now I have to start buying porsches.

I just... *sigh*. I must be old.

And it should be said that I can appreciate a true entertainment machine like Big Jim's scion was. It was done right and not trying to be something it wasn't.

Guy at work has a Flex. I think they're pretty interesting. They're definitely a lot bigger than the xb.

The closest thing I'll ever have to an SUV is an X5, crew cab pickup or a porsche cayenne.

I like the ford flex, but then again I dont. It really looks like they took a 1st gen xB and made it Americanized. But a VIP'd out minivan, i'd drive one in a heart beat.

Bahaha that video is great. You can tell how old it is by looking at the HESS sign that says $1.73 a gallon.

If you pause the video when the tow truck is in frame, it looks like the number starts out with 267, which is a area code....

That really did look like Philly to me. And Ken you say run, but they actually got the fire put out! I was surprised they managed that.

No. It was just a fire. It did flame up good when we opened the hood and let the fresh air in though. We didn't think it was anything serious when we pulled over though since the car was still running fine.

HickRocket1258 06-01-2012 09:52 AM

Morning all. Hope everyone is doing alright. It's Friday, so I guess I can't complain.

jpalamar 06-01-2012 09:59 AM

It needs to be 4 much sooner.

Hoping to have some spare time this weekend. I really want to get my interior cleaned up.

doesnt matter, every situation is going to be different b/c variables will be different. i understand you can put a cigarette out in a thing of gasoline, but a static shock is more than enough to ignite the fumes.

you're not going to catch me hanging around any vehicle that's on fire. it's not my job and i'm not putting myself at risk. let it burn and collect the insurance.

is it 5 yet?

HickRocket1258 06-01-2012 10:22 AM

I have til about 6 tonight. Then I get home and the girl will want me to do work on the house. She needs to chill with some of that. Thinking about heading to the track Sunday to do some bracket racing.

Did you ever find out what caused the fire?

And were you on 100 last night? Say 930-945? I was goin north and a Yellow Vette comin south turned left at the light by Target and Chilis and that area.

I hear you.. for me at least, until it gets to the front seats I'll attempt to put it out, especially if it was a wimpy fire like that one. I did in fact put out a fire in my old beretta. That one was my own creation though so we won't talk about that.
