Old picture, but what a fun gun to shoot. WWII P38 w/ Nazi insignia.

I am a memeber of South Phila Archery and Gun Club. Its around the corner from Pat's and Geno's Steaks. We could shoot and eat cheesesteaks. But i am open to suggestions.

doug 08-27-2009 03:04 PM

what are the costs for non-members to shoot there?

angdefeo 08-27-2009 03:06 PM

I think its $10 if you buy their ammo or $15 if you dont buy any ammo and shoot from my supply. I have an unlimited membership where i dont have to buy ammo from them when i shoot.

Sounds good to me. I think i have a a few boxes at home of either Speer Gold Dot or Fiochi 165-185 grain. If you want to use that you can have it at cost from me. I think it was $15 a box for 50 rounds.

Not "around here" but come up any time!

Hyde Park area in upstate NY? I spent a lot of time around there.

angdefeo 08-27-2009 03:59 PM

I am not sure if they allow full auto. I saw a guy shooting a full auto 22 but i am not sure about other calibers. Here is a link to the place. Check it out:

doug 08-27-2009 04:47 PM

With the looks of some of the weapons in here.. we should probably find an outdoor range to have a meet at.. hahahaha.

not a gun, but i picked up this gerber lmf knife for my colorado wilderness trip.
it has a nice sheath, its pretty heavy at one pound but its strong enough to cut up wood. it has lashing holes if you want to tie a stick on it to make a spear. its has nice straps to put on your leg or molle pack. has a built in sharpener too on the sheath. you can pull off all the straps so its just the knife and plastic part of the sheath. the butt end of the knife is pretty pointy, its made for punching plexiglass out of a cockpit, nice use as a hammer also. didnt come with the safety cutter. its also insulated so you can cut electrical lines without risk of cutting shocked.

Yeah, it's up in northern NY. I didn't know there was a park there though. This is on the western side of NY, north of Syracuse.

NICE! i love my LMF II. mine's in coyote brown too. i'm hiking most of the time so i have absolutely no need for serrations... they're for man made materials mostly. that' the only problem i have with the LMF II, they don't make a non-serrated version. soo... i reprofiled the blade to get rid of the serrations, gave it a 19 deg edge on the bottom 1/3 of the blade for fine cutting, a 22 deg edge in the middle, and a durable 25 deg up top where i'd do any light chopping. i also flattened the false edge on the back of the blade for easier batonning. polished the blade, and gave the handle and the sheath a wrap of black 550 paracord without the core so it lays flat. i have it mounted to my backpack's shoulder strap, handle down, for easy access. works perfectly! i'll be getting an all black LMF II to keep in the car in a few weeks. i'll keep that one 'stock'. lol.
