So Talon you told us about a place that rips us off? Tisk tisk.

HatchSurfer3 05-31-2013 10:05 AM

Yea Ben, you jerk!

There definitely should not be a standard price regardless of the metal. They vary a great deal, so if they are giving 11 cents across the board that place is a complete joke. I can't imagine they would do that though.

hey it was better than any junk yard you've given us Joey, rofl. Rick, you son of a bitch.

JeremyPA 05-31-2013 09:34 PM

From what I'm hearing, the price for scrap metal is down atm. That's for junk metal (not copper/alum) so actually 11 cents (as sad as it sounds) is about right right now. I'm sure it varies place to place too. Not sure if you guys know the process (ive junked some stuff recently), but theres junk metal, and good metal such as copper, aluminum, etc. Junk metal gets lumped up into a big pile (majority of what you see junk men driving around collecting is junk metal (toys, etc). The give you so little because they have to separate the metal, yada yada etc.

Ive got quite an extensive copper collection going atm. Can't wait to cash that bad boy in haha.

So going to st Peters village tomorrow and hiking and having a photo shoot then heading to Phoenixville to try the new release of there American revolution beers everyone should come out

The trans is supposidly aluminum and has some steel and brass pieces as well. So I just dont buy .11 cents. That sounds like bullcrap to me, but maybe ill just wait until the price goes back up. Rofl.. anyone wanna buy my transmission?

Kodish has one if the worst pay rates for scrap. Harris Metals is where most people go. If you want the most out of your scrap you need to separate all the types of metals. It may go from $8 to $18 so if you don't have a lot to scrap its usually not worth it

Patio...stamped concrete. My parents have it and I absolutely love it. What I'd like to do with my house one day.

They do look awesome, but they are pretty expensive and will eventually crack.

We are leaning towards a paver patio because its more DIY friendly, thus cheaper. Then I can splurge on a nice grill setup :)

JeremyPA 06-03-2013 09:24 PM

:banana:holy ****. Just put the last coat of plastidip on my fozzy grill and forgot to open the garage door. Now the whole house reaks of spray paint hahaha. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEee

Pavers will eventually settle. Best bet if you are looking for longevity is to go with a deck. With proper maint. you can get 30+ years out of it. Trust me, it's what I do for a living.

jzamorski113 06-03-2013 11:44 PM

Smell of spray paint is nothing. We refinished 1500 sq ft of hardwood floors last week. We had to wear those carbon masks when in the house. It was awful, my eyes were burning lol
