oh and ken, I know you're putting a lot of thought into your tops and shoes, which is a great thing..

but have you thought about what you're going to wear pant-wise?

are you going for trousers or denim?

i love me some denim... but i'm gonna wait for the boots to come in before shopping. I'm pretty easy going with jeans, I've found levis fit well, but i want to see how they go w/ the boots and maybe alter the cut. generally go w/ a 32x32 boot cut, though i've got a pair of straight leg that I like.

I do need a couple trousers though

if you're going for denim, I'd suggest you try to buy one or two quality pairs.. a lot of selvedge denim is meant to be worn daily for 6 months to a year without a single wash..

example, the jeans I have on right now.. I've worn them every day (with the exception of a couple days) for the past 3 months or so.. it gives them character and it's awesome to see the evolution of the denim with daily wear..

and I'd also suggest swaying away from bootcut anything.. it's been way out of style for a few years and just looks tacky. stick with straight and slim cuts..

to be honest, I really really really think you should set aside about $250-300 for one nice pair of denim.. because your jeans can make or break your look.. and with normal run of the mill levi's bought in stores, it's going to be the latter..

I know the owners of a "boutique" in doylestown, pretty decent friends with them... I'll hit them up and try on some jeans, i can probably pull a discount while i'm there.

I agree with the boot cut... i'm definitely moving away from them, and prefer how the straight cut fits.

I've heard about this 6 month thing with jeans... I've tried going for a bit w/o washing pairs, but i always end up getting something on them...

FazdaGt 11-10-2008 03:11 PM

charly you really make me feel like i have no sense of style.

which i don't. so oh well :-p

lol, hence why i'm talking to him. I have a sense of style... but not enough of one to think really outside the box... or at least closer to the edge of it

I'm a HUGE denim freak.. so let me know what pairs you are looking at.. or I can suggest some

or if you're looking to spend < $200 for jeans, let me know because I know a few choice in that range that are alright..

my friend owns deep sleep down in olde city if you're ever interested in hitting it up with me.. they carry a few brands of cheap selvedge raw denim

I'm down for a shopping trip, wouldn't hurt to get a "professionals" perspective into purchasing the right pair of jeans
