Thanks i was thinking of there or maybe victory or even heading to delaware to dog fish head.

jpalamar 05-04-2012 11:48 AM

My friends and I got harassed by cops when walking home from Victory(used ti live 2 blocks away). I was like really, my friend here is a cop... and we are being responable and waking... not driving... and we aren't causing a scene.

grimm 05-04-2012 11:51 AM

Still don't understand why a company needs to know everything about you before they can give you a salary range for the position. It shouldn't even be legal for a company to make you apply to find out.

grimm 05-04-2012 04:30 PM

topless or doorless for my ride home?

jpalamar 05-07-2012 09:34 AM

Congrats.

Can't wait til 4. I have maybe another hour of work to do for the day... then its bored time again.

grimm 05-07-2012 10:00 AM

HickRocket1258 05-07-2012 10:16 AM

Such a busy weekend period.

Friday - Pick up mustang and was running great. Code comes up. Have to relocate IAT to discharge tube.
Saturday - bought new car
Sunday - hot water heater went out on us and we adopted a dog at the same time

The busiest weekend I've had period.

grimm 05-07-2012 10:34 AM

glad to hear you finally got the mustang back, hope you're loving it!

our weekend was busy too. saturday was a lot of cleaning, started in the garage... which is tough with my powertools sitting in the way and going unused. then we hit the back porch and got that cleaned up and more or less turned into usable hang out space. very awesome being able to relax on the porch now.

saturday i started working on becky's mother's day gift, making her something out of wood... which just so happened to require me to buy a router (nice!) and will need to pick up a random orbit sander as well, then more work on the porch, some new furniture building, some grilling, and got myself a splitting axe and made some progress on our wood pile.

great weekend... i'm so much more motivated to get **** done when we don't have tv lol

Zaior 05-07-2012 11:06 AM

I had to work everyday this weekend, and my parents were at my cousins graduation in Ohio. My grandfather and 14 year old brother were still home though, That was a pain to clean up after lol

HickRocket1258 05-07-2012 11:07 AM

Hahaha Ken that's awesome you had a productive weekend.

The mustang was great and def spinning 1st to 2nd gear with traction control on. After the code came up though, it's not hitting boost with where it's supposed to be at. Maybe hitting 5-6 when it's supposed to be 9-10.

grimm 05-07-2012 12:00 PM

steel for my brewstand should be arriving today, burners and fuel delivery system on wednesday. this weekend might be filled with some cutting and welding :) i can't wait!!

jpalamar 05-07-2012 12:02 PM

Finished cleaning out the garage. Scrap guy came and took some stuff. Gotta organize everything now which is gonna suck.

HickRocket1258 05-07-2012 12:37 PM

We just set ours at the curb and it disappeared within 24 hours.

Put it on your neighbors lawn in the middle of the night?

Big_Jim 05-07-2012 04:49 PM

just wait till the heel sticks... ugh

Antonio 05-07-2012 10:14 PM

I don't want to sound like "that guy"......but it's something that's taken a load of stress off me. I've been saving up cash, paid off my z06......16 payments early. That officially puts me 100% debt free. This has been a process of saving and paying down debt for over a year now. So happy to be finally over that hump. Now to save and start looking for a place

Zaior 05-07-2012 10:44 PM

Congrats!

piku 05-07-2012 10:50 PM

It's a sad state when you feel like you have to apologize for being proud of fiscal responsibility. I'd love to get rid of most of my possessions and quit working and not worry about anything for many years. But then I remembered retirement and health insurance. Two big problems with that.

Zaior 05-08-2012 08:33 AM

Good Morning Everyone! Started my Retirement fund yesterday like you all suggested! I didn't start off with a huge amount, only a couple hundred. But I have an "allowance" program thing set up, so that from every paycheck I cash, $30 is automatically deducted and put into my retirement fund. When I get a better job obviously that number will go up, but I wish I could have gotten a picture of the ladies face when I walked in and said "Hi I would like to open a retirement fund".

It's a start man. Congrats on that.

HickRocket1258 05-08-2012 08:50 AM

Morning all. Eyes are heavy but I'm in a good mood. The new dog (Bentley) is getting better with potty training I think. Here's a pic of him. I believe he's 11 weeks old.

Zaior 05-08-2012 08:52 AM

Yeah I'm actually really proud of how I have been acting (financially) lately. I have a savings account (which is my new car fund), I have my checking account (Which is my spending money), Plus Now I have a retirement fund with a couple hundred bucks in it (All from cashing in quarters in my piggy bank lol). I even have an interview coming up on Wednesday for a job where I make almost 2.5x what I am making right now which would be awesome since I can work full time in the summer. All I can say is that I am super happy that college is free for me. I guess I am finally learning the worth of a dollar

Zaior 05-08-2012 08:54 AM

Thats the dog you rescued? He looks very healthy and is very cute! Good Luck with the potty training. Male dogs (in my experience) are a lot easier to train, but you have a much smaller window of opportunity. (My brothers dog still has accidents lol)

HickRocket1258 05-08-2012 08:58 AM

Yeah that's him. It was just overpopulation basically where he was at. And it does seem to be an easier process than our other dog which was female. He's catching on. He's a big cuddler already.

jpalamar 05-08-2012 09:00 AM

Good job man. You will likely be in a better spot then most of us in 10 years.

It is amazing how compound interest works when you start early.

EX... $300 to start and $50 a month for 50 years(assuming you start at 20 and plan to retire aroudn 70 which seems realistic). You would of put about $30k out of pocket over the years but will have about $22k in interest(at only 2 %).

The same senario but lets say you start 10 years later because you, like us decided to invest less and buy cars LOL... You now only have 40 years to save... You dumped $24k and only made $13k. You only started saving 20% later in life but you lost 50% in interest.

Just think about how much it would go up when you start making more and more money and dumping even more into the account?

grimm 05-08-2012 09:03 AM

thats a great looking dog Rob!

What kind of retirement account did you open? Interest rate?

Well to be honest it isn't a "True" Retirement Account yet. When you guys first suggested to open a retirement fund I texted my dad and told him to make sure that I did it. So I went this weekend and I put it in a savings account for the time being with a 4% interest rate. After my graduation party when I have a little bit more money (I'll probably put in 1000) We are going to go and actually set up a retirement account. I really didn't feel comfortable setting it up without my father,so I am waiting for him to come home from Belgium (He's a pilot lol)

HickRocket1258 05-08-2012 09:17 AM

At least you have the right mindset man. I am still somewhat young at 26 and need to put money into a 401k myself. I don't make enough money to afford a house and be able to contribute at the same time. When I can find a few more bucks that I don't need to use to pay bills, I'll contribute.

Big_Jim 05-08-2012 09:43 AM

morning everyone.

jpalamar 05-08-2012 10:02 AM

I feel so stuffed from eating too many wings last night.

jpalamar 05-08-2012 10:07 AM

I can't believe cars like this are worth more then $1000 bucks. I'll never understand how imports get their value.
