stretched tires :bigeek:

JerseyTuscani 11-05-2009 02:40 PM

am i the only one that thinks stretched tires and too much negative camber look stupid? also i love lowered cars but leave the slammed look to the vdub guys and low riders. it doesn't look right on a Civic. i think all ur rubber should be touching the road not half the tire.

Fujito 11-05-2009 02:43 PM

I like this guy's Civic with stretched tires, negative camber, and a dump

There's a fine line between cool stretch and too much stretch and the same can be said for camber...

IMO, I'd say stretching more than 2 tire sizes should only be done if it's required to fit tires in the wheel wells. That VIP stretching and crap is just dumb.

As far as camber goes, I don't think a car should run more than 3-4 degrees (Speaking in pure aesthetics)...

2 tire sizes over what? Mustang guys think a 275 tire on a 10" wheel is super stretched, but that's proper non streched fitment to the rest of the world.

I usually say 2 sizes smaller than whatever size would have straight sidewalls on the wheel. (I know this is a bit vague as tire sizes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but you get the idea)

I'm anti stretch Ricky. I could care less for that crazy fitment.

Your car is the perfect example for decent fitment without stretching.

It'd be great fitment with a rear spacer.

Waffles.

There's a build thread for the car.

It's actually like 80% Mazda Miata and 20% Rx-7
