doesn't matter though, it's awesome that you got out to shoot. i haven't been out for two months and it's killing me. ammo = lots of money.

hey blkZ06 - i can haz .223?

Um i kow how to hold it the right way.. Do you notice im a kid, about 5.7 and 110 pounds? the 30-06 is light as can be, and the 10 packs a big punch, not like any other 10's around here.

lol, no i just figured you were older/bigger (by default). in that case if you were getting a sore shoulder you'd probably be holding it the wrong way, as it's not that hard to do. i know a lot of people who have been shooting for a long time that get black and blue shoulders after only a few rounds and start complaining right away about being sore. when you look at how they're shouldering the rifle it's easy to see why. i was just bustin your balls anyway.

Lol its fine. My dad bitches when he shoots the 10 too much.

den9 07-05-2009 11:46 PM

i think my 10 gauge doesnt hurt at all, if u squeeze it so tight to your shoulder it just absorbs all the shock into your body and it just rolls with the punch.

shooting standing up and putting the gun up quick can hurt alot more.

To tell you the truth, my dad trusts alot of guys to shoot his guns.. and i havent seen one shoot the gun more the 3 times and not say something about the pain. I was standing. I dont understand why the gun hurts, Ive shot it atleast 10 times by now so i know it, But it still hurts.

Honestly dude, its probably not that bad to a shooter. Alot of people dont shoot regularly. I know a 10 is a heavy hitter, but how many can you put through a 12 before you get sore? out of curiosity.

blkZ06 07-06-2009 02:58 PM

and also what kind of ammo are you using

Drftpretty 07-06-2009 03:05 PM

Put in my LTCF today at the court house, $38 and two in county references is all it took.

Ive never really shot a normal 12 either. Im sure it sounds like im making alot of excuses, but my dad ( these are all his guns ) is a huge turkey hunter, and he has 2 shot guns, The 10 ga. and the 12 ga. and there the only shotguns ive ever really shot, other then a 4-10 but thats nothing, and both his shotguns are turkey guns, Perm. chokes. and the 12 is a light has can be single shot. most i remember shooting out of that is 6 but im not sure if i ever got sore, i dont get to shoot much.

depends on the gun, how heavy it is, and if its semi auto or not.

my skeet gun i can shoot all day with it, because its heavy and made for putting 200 down the barrel in a day.

my dads 12 gauge ithaca featherlight, i can shoot 5 and ill be bruises, the non existing recoil pad doesnt help either.

my 10 gauge kicks harder but its not as sharp as my dads 12 gauge, because it has a thick pad and probably 4 pounds heavier.

all 10 gauge ammo is 3 1/2 inch mag, and 99 percent of the time they are high brass because they are designed for shooting thick feathered and far flying geese, duck and turkey. although turkey u do head shots.

Yeah, there high brass, i wasnt sure exactly the size, and there used for turkey shots.

I looked today and i have 2 tiny black and blues with alittle cut, nothing big.

dragonfly2k3 07-07-2009 07:36 AM

honestly, im prob near the skiniest one here, and while i dont own a 10ga can put probably 70 12ga slugs away without really caring. But, i probably shoot more than soon2be does as well. Congrat to the new ltcf as well!

blkZ06 07-07-2009 12:05 PM

okay, i'll take one too. lol.

just found out that a kid i used to be good friends with in high school has a Barrett M82A1, a Cheytac .408 and a couple ARs. :bigeek: i saw him out at a bar this weekend and got talking to him about his rifles. evidently he has some land to use for 'sniping' and wants to go shoot sometime soon. you'd better believe that i'm going to take pics and post 'em up here!!

dragonfly2k3 07-08-2009 07:41 AM

very nice, are there any ranges on the west side of philly?

turtle240 07-08-2009 02:25 PM

i have an ar15, a russian sniper rifle name unknown it doesnt even say it on the gun, anyway a sig sauer p220 combat tb (you can stick it in the mud and it will still shoot) and last but not least a german luger that i got from my grandfather

Jeffros Spec V 07-08-2009 02:34 PM
